SPF for face that doesn't cause breakouts

ThePoshUns · 01/08/2024 19:46

I'm taking the SPF 50 advice for my face but it's breaking me out in spots.
Using a spray one from next and an amber solaire one. I'm thinking it's because they're waterproof so not allowing sweat to evaporate and blocking pores?
I don't need waterproof, hit me with your recommendations please

La Roche Posay is the only brand that hasn't broken my skin out in spots. I tried quite a few before I found it and now wouldn't risk going with anything else

User1213 · 01/08/2024 19:50

La roche posay (can buy in any boots)
heliocare (really good, but quite drying)
Joseon relief (Korean, amazing, my new go to)

Ultrasun have a great, face specific range

WalkInAStraightLine · 01/08/2024 19:59

La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid

or Biore watery essence

La Roche Posay is fine. I prefer Ultra Violette though (online or at Space NK). You may want to try a mineral instead of a chemical sunscreen if neither of those are better for you. Much less choice, but people may be able to recommend one.

Avène

AuntieMarys · 01/08/2024 20:18

I've started using Altruist for face. I have rosacea/ PMLE aggravated by heat/ sun and my face hasn't erupted this year

6gallonsaday · 01/08/2024 20:25

Mimitika

GettingStuffed · 01/08/2024 20:27

I found E45 do a sunscreen and it absorbs beautifully.

EdithStourton · 01/08/2024 20:29

La Roche Posay or Heliocare.
My skin is acne central given half a chance, but those two both work well for me.

DeliciousApples · 01/08/2024 20:30

Ultrasun do a mist.

Buy on qvc and get 60 days to try it out and return it even half empty.

All you lose is postage both ways.

I love qvc because I don't have the fear of wasting like £30 or whatever on things because I know it's only going to be a few quid postage if they don't suit me/my skin/my figure etc. as you get all the rest of your money back.

suki1964 · 01/08/2024 20:35

I used to use Bare Minerals cosmetics, and they all include a SPF. Minerals , so I never had a reaction, had a good natural looking foundation on, worked for me for a good 10-15 years

ThePoshUns · 01/08/2024 20:36

Thank you all will have a look at these

Beauty Pie!

mogtheexcellent · 01/08/2024 21:08

I use ultruist. Its quite reasonable on amazon.

I also got a boots no 7 age defy/renewal (cant remember name!) When i saw it cheap on an adelvert. That one is less greasy but i get some small spots.

SunnyDayAtLast · 01/08/2024 21:10

I would definitely recommend La Roche-Posay’s Oil Control Fluid SPF50. It’s for oily and blemish-prone skin and is amazing! It is invisible when on so no shiny face either!

dudsville · 01/08/2024 21:18

I struggle with breakouts from spf. I don't know if this is a good alternative, but my foundation has an spf 45 in it and my skin is happy with that, it's estee lauder futurist hydra. It's expensive but i only use a pump a day and then I wear a sun visor. The only spf I can tolerate on my face is the elizabeth arden 15, the 50 breaks me out, which is crazy as it's cheaper as well.

catsanddogs5 · 01/08/2024 21:20

Hate la Roche Possay as makes my face white and feels dry.

Thank you farmer is excellent and goes on so well as a moisturising base before make up.

It some how seems to have made by breakouts better not worse since I started using it.

DaysofHoney · 01/08/2024 21:20

Eucerin have brought out a gel/cream and it’s my favourite so far. La Roche was giving me breakouts, such a shame as above the rest of their products. Eucerin is absolutely fine with make up on top too.

Bohomovies · 01/08/2024 21:22

OP, you need something non-comedogenic. I've had luck with Cetaphil Daily Defence SPF50, and my makeup goes over it just fine. I've also had luck with Ultrasun 50+ Face which is oil-free and non-comedogenic.

hurlyburlygirly · 01/08/2024 21:24

Rituals has been fine for me and I have sensitive skin. I use a minimum of factor 30 all year round

daysfilledwithdappledlight · 01/08/2024 21:25

Beauty Pie and Shiseido both very light and silky for everyday high protection use.

wastinghergum · 01/08/2024 21:28

La Roche Posy fan here too. It's pricier than I'd prefer, but good with my sensitive skin and doesn't give me breakouts which all the other brands I'd tried did.

Prapsfound · 01/08/2024 21:30

The Body Shop skin defence works for me

Bloom15 · 01/08/2024 21:39

I like the Garnier invisible vitamin c one
