Evening all! Thanks to Tracy Beaker for the new title!
Roll on some bling and style, though it may be a while!

I drop in and out of various MN threads but have always liked this one as it's about clothes and styles and looks and not about gossip and misdemeanours.

MrsLeonFarrell · 16/08/2024 09:00

I liked the first outfit, second and third are a big nope. Don't like the beach dress for the occasion and that copper outfit is a nice colour but doesn't look good sitting or standing. The navy shows how well structured works.

Thanks - that's our aim! We like to chat about clothes and style, sometimes the people, but it's generally positive, sometimes a bit wry, but never unkind.

Like a few of us I’m here since Day 1, under many namechanges. Fair to say we do touch on the various gossip and scandals , without making that the point of the thread. It’s a long running thread (5 years plus now ) so we’ve followed the fates, styles and fortunes of the various cast and characters of the royal houses over a few years. It would be unusual not to mention the big stories in the news. I think the threads have kept a good balance between style and news coverage over the years. Always respectful to fellow posters.

The copper outfit doesn't fit well standing up and the dress is too beachy.

Yes, it's obviously a lot more respectful than the Royal Family threads!

To be honest, @Lifestooshort71 , that's often a pretty low bar! 😂

I have to stay away from the other RF threads as they just make me very cross. I love the fashion on here as well as the history lessons from some very knowledgable posters.

On the Columbia trip I like the navy top and trousers. Even with the wide, bare shoulder it's a shape that suits Meghan and it also seemed to fit. When I look back at some of my favourite MM outfits there's a lot of navy!

Hate the middle dress - the fabric, the fit, the style. Sorry. Interesting shoes though with what I can only describe as a 'bobble heel'. We're seeing some nice footwear from some of the Royals recently - will the British RF be the last be dragged away kicking and screaming from their high-heeled court shoes...

Love the bronze/brown shirt and trousers - just not together. I can picture Meghan wearing that shirt with white trousers/jeans and sandals and looking fabulous. Nice hair too.

The copper outfit looks pyjama-esque. Even the waist looks vaguely elasticated.

RomainingToBeSeen · 16/08/2024 13:39

The 'bobble heel' shoes that Meghan was wearing are Jimmy Choos. If I was younger and rather more petite I'd quite like a pair!

I love a kitten heel and Jimmy Choo if I had her cash
Other than the navy suit, all of Megs outfits have been disappointing at best

Chewbecca · 16/08/2024 14:26

A mere £675 for the JCs.

Papergirl1968 · 16/08/2024 16:01

Meghan has three versions of the dress apparently - the one worn in Colombia, the one worn in Nigeria and a gold version worn to an awards ceremony in New York.
The designer is based in California but has Colombian heritage.

I just wish H&M would lay off the PDAs. She wound me up at their engagement photo shoot by literally clinging to him and seems to have barely let go of him since. and he’s almost as bad for keep touching her.
It’s unprofessional and just cringe.

deeahgwitch · 16/08/2024 16:23

I hate the dress in the black and white frond pattern.

Maireas · 16/08/2024 16:38

Oooh, I like the Jimmy Choos!

I always like the idea of mules but they flap loudly when I walk in them so have never succumbed to buying them.

the best version of that dress is the gold but I’m not sure it’s “Get Three!” worthy.

Bad luck on the brown trouser combo - I bought a lovely flowy silky pair of trousers from Zara once and didn’t check the label and have never worn them out of the house (they make great loungewear too with an elasticated waist I was planning to hide) because of the potential for sweatiness. And they were patterned so I sympathise with her for that.

Love the navy outfit - structured and slimline. Separates always work best on her.

Maireas · 16/08/2024 16:57

I know what you mean about mules! I like the look of them, though

smilesy · 16/08/2024 17:21

I would be worried about falling off the side of dainty mules like that 😱😂

Lunde · 16/08/2024 18:05

Just catching up again

On the Colombia tour

  • navy outfit - liked this one the tailored shape and narrow trousers suits her well and seemed appropriate
  • pink patterned - not keen on the pattern in this 3rd incantation of the same pattern - it looked like a sun/beach dress and the cutout and high split seemed an odd choice for the event.
  • brown shiny outfit - no just no. Having different shades of brown was odd although I think that the blouse might be OK with different trousers. The ensemble looked like PJs but the very creased crotch with sweat stains when she stood up just makes the whole outfit a huge mistake.
