Impossible dress?

I am very short (5.1"), fairly petite (size 8 top, size 10 bottoms), with a short torso. I am 53 years old. I probably look younger.

I find that most dresses drown me and I am struggling to find a suitable dress for the summer. I am looking for something that's fitted but not figure hugging, definitely not floaty though, and that it has sleeves (short sleeves okay, but not cap) that are not wide, floaty, or puffy.

The material should be cotton or a linen blend, might consider good quality viscose.

I have really unbelievably white legs so lenghtwise I am thinking probably midi?

It should not be patterned, definitely not flowers, and the colour should be black, navy or a dark green. Budget £100 or less.

I feel I am looking for an impossible but perhaps someone out there has some suggestions I haven't considered. Thanks!

Do you like shirt dresses? You can size for your smaller top half and they are easy to find in cotton and in plain colours. Also if you're struggling to find anything that you 100% like, consider buying used off eBay or vinted and then using the rest of your budget for a seamstress. It's amazing what a few alterations can do, even just in terms of removing fabric from sleeves or too full skirts and inserting a modesty panel across the bust.

Also as someone who is very into sun protection, I find it fairly difficult to find plain summer dresses with sleeves. Have you considered a sleeveless dress styled with a shirt or cardigan over it? I tend to do that lot.

Plain linen dress and put a belt on it. Marks and Spencer’s have plain, linen dresses with a nice neckline. I love them.

@HighFiveMummy I’m a smidge taller than you and short bodied and I can confirm the green Reiss dress you linked is fab, true to size and a more vibrant colour than it looks online. Sorry! There is 10% off of you’re new to Reiss.

This is why online shopping is so hard, because I am more than a smidge taller than 5’1 (just under 5’4) and looking at the photos I would assume that would be at least a maxi on me.
