Office wear for menopausal women who've had enough of your shit

And who aren't as wealthy as they'd like to be.

Top priority is comfortable and not too hot, because these days it's always too hot, except when its suddenly cold. So I guess layers.

Not too tight, not too shapeless, not too expensive, not too cheap and nasty, not too fussy, not too old ladyish. This seems to rule basically everything out. I'm so sick of looking for stuff and not being able to find anything, and it doesn't help that my patience with anything that isn't straightforward these days is basically zero.

How hard can it be to find some reasonable smart casual (not jeans) stuff to wear to work that won't piss me off all day? Apparently it's impossible. But it can't be, surely.

If you work in an office environment and just can't be arsed with any twattery these days, what do you wear? Please help me before I have some kind of menopausal Falling Down moment and lose my mind.

@Brukli May I ask where you buy blouses from? They sound exactly like what I am after. Thank you.

Thank you all of you . Going back to work after being unwell and need these. Much obliged sisters x

I'm wearing ghost satin midi skirts and jumpers Bjork 90s revival style. Wool jumpers with opauqe tights for winter, cotton jumpers with bare legs for summer. Working well so far.

Vinted - especially if you know exactly what item you'd like. I try on clothes in shops but always check vinted especially if pricier item

Absolutely this. Know what shapes suit you and what your size is in different brands.

My go-to tends to be tailored trousers with a loose blouse. Or a smart, plain tee. Loafers instead of heels.

I'd look at Alexandra.Stedman on Instagram for inspiration.

OP, I wear uniform so have no choice... and it's horrible!
But if I could choose my own clothes I would wear wideleg trousers with sandals or smart trainers. They are so comfy and lightweight.
You can vary your tops but I'd wear a thin longish cardy. I'm tall, size 12.

I felt very similar to OP and I bought some wide leg trousers and cotton tops , caged sandals for work and I’m feeling a lot cooler. Natural fabrics are the way to go imo - breathable. I thought wide leg trousers would make me look fatter so held off for a long while- more fool me. They don’t make me look fatter and are very airy. Love them!

A smart pair of black and navy pants and a few nice blouses and one jacket in a natural colour which will go with anything , this will be a perfect menopausal wardrobe for working in an office

I seem to have developed a massive waist and thighs recently, and would be better in trousers for work (I've been managing in dresses but not ideal.

Does anyone have any tips for trousers that fit huge bum/stomach/thighs?

M and s trousers lovely fit and not ridiculously priced and look smart for work

I'm with @Brukli in creating my own uniform, so I don't have to think about it each day. I wear wide-leg trousers, a silk blouse, and for smarter events a tailored cardigan/jacket style top or a blazer. I have quite a limited palate of colors too. I buy everything from one place, The Fold, and just top up with a handful of pieces at the beginning of each season.

I wear dresses with waists but that are loose or flared below the waist. Nobody’s child is good. I am eyeing up some Jasper Conran shirt dresses on vinted as I probably need to smarten up for new bosses soon.

I wear wrap dresses from Hobbs. Flair out at the bottom and flattering. Lovely soft material so comfy to wear. Smart for work. And there's a sale on now! Plus you can pick them up in really good condition on vinted too.

I wear wide leg trousers with a t shirt tucked in, or a body, and a cardigan over the the top as needed. I have five pairs of trousers which I bought from Halara (you often see them advertised on insta etc). I bought the first pair on a whim when I was buying some leggings (the leggings are also great) and they are brill. Stretch waist, bit of stretch in the fabric, nicely cut, good length for me at 5'6. I have 5 different colours. Wear with trainers, or heels depending on what I'm doing.
Other than that I wear a maxi skirt and again a smart T shirt
