What does everyone wear
Normally a hoodie and leggings but I'm always red hot and flustered

It's gonna be around 30/32 degrees when we land at 1pm and I also want to look stylish and put together

But also that she's going from the airport straight to air-conditioned transport to the hotel. So all these special layering outfits are just a bit unnecessary.

Just seems a bit pointless worrying about the temperature change from UK to destination when you'll only be uncomfortable for about 10 minutes till you get to your room and can change.

The whole point of the post is that they are usually too hot. Have you read the OP?

Yeah, I just think that's standard experience for a short amount of time while travelling and not worth worrying about! I'd rather be warm enough in the cold airport car park at 5 am than a bit warm even in air-con at at the other end.

I'll bow out.

Every time I travel I normally look like a sack of ....
So for once it would be nice to be put together ha ha
I've found some black wide legged trousers and a white cropped vest with flip flops

The linen bomber jacket sounds exactly what I'm after, can you let me know where it's from please?

Sorry @Tinytigertail i didn't see your post.

Mine is a linen mix one from HM that was reduced to half price in store. They had a khaki one there too, plus beige.

I also have one from RI in Blue but not linen mix.

jackstini · 22/06/2024 10:38

Maxi dress, trainers, cardigan
Comfortable and covers all temperatures

socks1107 · 22/06/2024 10:40

I did linen trousers, white t shirt and denim jacket last week.

sleepyscientist · 22/06/2024 10:40

I've got a shirt and short co-ord for our next trip. I would rather be cool on the plane than hot and bothered when we get there.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 22/06/2024 11:07

Also going to Rhodes in August so following for ideas

Thursdaygirl · 22/06/2024 11:08

I’m now thinking of wearing a maxi dress for next week’s flight - some good suggestions on this thread

PrincessMee · 22/06/2024 11:21

I always wear a dress when travelling topped up this end with a boxy denim jacket and a cashmere wrap which I use when I sleep on the plane. Dresses are way more comfortable.

TheGlitterFairy · 22/06/2024 11:24

I usually take a pair of shorts and sandals in hand luggage and change in the airport or on the plane before hand - usually travel in jeans and a vest top with cardigan so these go into hand luggage; I do the same for DS too - change him to shorts, t shirt and sandals

suburburban · 22/06/2024 12:24

@RichTea90

Sounds a lovely outfit but at my age it's something I would think about😀

bridgetreilly · 22/06/2024 12:53

Capri leggings, floaty tunic top. Cardigan gets shoved in carry on luggage.

bridgetreilly · 22/06/2024 12:57

Last month I flew to Italy and quite a lot of people were in coords. I’m afraid that even the smart ones just looked like pyjamas. Mind you, pyjamas would be a great choice for travel….

KevinDeBrioche · 22/06/2024 13:00

I wouldn’t wear wider legged trousers unless they are cropped - the bathroom floors are disgusting.

i wear joggers, vest or tshirt, fine knit jumper or hoody. Cashmere scarf / wrap and beanie, thick socks, in my hand luggage. Planes are freezing.

PurBal · 22/06/2024 13:01

Short haul: long sleeve cotton dress. Wear leggings underneath and remove before landing. Then a cardy / coat / cover up to keep warm. Trainers
Long haul: I change before landing because after being on a plane for 8+ hours, plus all the time on the way to the airport, plus 3 hours waiting in departures I feel gross. Also take a wash bag and flannel and clean my teeth.

Benshawsberries · 22/06/2024 13:03

Short sleeved playsuit, trainers & a jumper to wear on the plane

pandasorous · 22/06/2024 13:14

I'd never wear anything loose legged on a plane given how disgusting the bathroom floors are!

I wear leggings and a longish top or light dress and then layers available if needed. although I find newer planes such as the a380 have much better air-conditioning and it can be quite toasty with blankets. most airports are air-conditioned and then you are only outside for a few minutes while getting into onward transfer.

I look 100% tramp when I get off the plane but don't think there is much I can do about that. I envy people that come off a plane and look fresh as daisies.

EdithStourton · 22/06/2024 13:24

Loose wide-leg linen trousers with elastic waistband.
Long-sleeved lightweight top (it was cold when we left)
Cardy, which I stuffed into my carry-on as soon as I didn't need it.
Converse.

Very comfy and worked well at the other end.

Linearforeignbody · 22/06/2024 13:34

I carry flip flops and a simple cotton dress in my hand bag. I change at the airport whilst waiting for luggage.

PurpleJustice · 22/06/2024 09:09

I always like to be comfortable and warm on planes.

Usually leggings, tshirt and hoodie with socks/trainers.

I wouldn't wear a dress because it restricts how I sit. I hate open toe'd shoes in airports, too busy and I'd be worried about tripping over or someone stepping/ rolling over my foot or something. I also get cold feet, so like thick socks! I also prefer tshirts over a strappy top because I feel a bit too exposed(?) somehow?

I love the loose Zara trousers someone linked above, so might swap them for my leggings!

Off the plane I just take my jumper off.

The Zara trousers are so comfy, I’ve been living in them on and off the plane this summer…

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 22/06/2024 15:58

I have a pair of loose cotton trousers or I just wear jeans. I always always wear trainers and a jumper or cardigan and take a jacket. The only time I didn't and went in shorts and a vest top, on the way back from Ibiza, I was bloody freezing the whole flight.
