Vit C serum - argh!

It doesn't seem to matter what I use it always oxidises and

  • leaves a fake tan smell
  • goes orange

Latest culprit is the La Roche Posay one - I complimented someone on her skin and she told me that's the one she uses. So off I trotted to Boots to get some, and it's the same old story.

Hmm

Am I just doomed to not be able to use Vit C??

I use this one, but at night followed by their ceranight oil:

I use a niacinamide serum in the mornings followed by a vitamin C moisturiser.

I've never had any issues with the strength of the vitamin C serum, but I've been using it for years. However I've never got on with retinol and I've tried loads of different brands.

same problem for me… best I’ve come close is Garnier gradual tan moisturiser (yellow bottle) - it’s got a strong apricot smell to it, it does smell but it’s not as bad as all the rest I’ve tried and it makes my skin hydrated:
