Completely agree here too. I have no idea of the cost but I am fairly sure when eg the British royal family marry, they have an eye on the impact on the public, the tourism angle, the history, formality etc. Im not saying I agree with their spending either. But this Indian wedding, it just seems obscene. It like ‘what else can we do to get in the papers? Oh I know, let’s have another pre wedding party’. Really shameful of the family.

I really, really don't get the celebrity guest thing. I'm not married, but at every wedding I've been to, all the guests are there for a reason and that reason is their relationship, whether familial or social, with one or both of the couple. It was one of the things that was weirdest about the Sussex wedding, too.

As for Johnson, he absolutely sickens me.

Morning @MeAgainAndAgain ! You are most welcome. Stephanie and Guillaume are the heirs to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. After 8 years of marriage, they had a much wanted child, Charles, followed by Francois. Both are completely 😍. Charles became our thread mascot, with Francois a co-mascot. When times get tough and the news gets worse, we like a picture of little Charles in his cardi, or Francois cheering up the elderly in a care home ❤️

Tatler has a retrospective of Sarah Chatto’s wedding, as it’s her 30th anniversary today. Still one of my favourite royal(ish!) wedding dresses.

That's one of my favourite wedding dresses, and the bridesmaids looked lovely, too. It was all very elegant and comparatively low key. I wouldn't normally think adding to a tiara would enhance it, but the greenery tied in so well with the overall look.
(Point of interest, she had her son at the same time as I had one of my children, and at the same hospital. I did wonder why there were photographers when I emerged!)

Jasper Conran doesn't get the publicity he deserves for his lovely designs.
He did a range-- of opaque tights for Debenhams that were fantastic, now sadly discontinued, though i'd love to know if they are still being manufactured under a different brand name now.--

I used to love the Jasper Conran section at Debenhams. Really well designed items.

That's an interesting peek back in time. The Queen is in a belted dress not a coat but her younger sister is dressed like the Queen dressed in her 80s and 90s. Which is surprising since Margaret was the most free to be fashionable of the two. Possibly dressing down to not upstage her daughter? But Margaret is spicing up her outfit with open toed sandals and what appears to be nail polish. Not many photos of the Queen in either of those at London events.

Oh and did anyone recognize one of the bridesmaids as Zara? I didn't till I read the caption.

Kate in a purple Saffiya dress at Wimbledon, accompanied by Charlotte. She looks good! Perhaps George is in Germany with William?
