Help me find this mystery beautiful bar of soap!

I've Googled and failed to find it. There are plenty in similar packaging but then the bars inside are a different shape...

I was given a beautiful bar of soap as a gift. It smelled divine, was great for my skin and it lasted ages. I want to buy another bar but can't find it. Does anyone know of a soap brand that fits this description?:

Big rectangular bar (bigger than a standard soap bar)

White/pale cream in colour

Wrapped in thick good quality paper with a lovely colourful pattern/image on it. Vague recollection of orange/red colours

Black ribbon around it

I'm convinced the fragrance was pomegranate but could have been passionfruit

A brand I'd never heard of (think probably Italian/Spanish)

From my googling it looks like it's mostly Italian made soaps that have the beautiful colourful paper wrapping. Sorry that doesn't narrow it down much for you!

I want to know what it is, too! I use Nesti Dante soap. I always keep the paper wrapping in my underwear drawer as the paper retains the scent of the soap, with the added bonus that I can check which soap I'm using if I want to rebuy.

Blimey. A lot of you are brilliant. I have brought soap from Italy before and it’s lovely. They don’t use shower gel as much as we do,

I do this too! 🙂

I like to use both which I know is odd!
Exfoliating gloves and soap for under arms, under boobs, belly button, feet then a shower gel for the rest

Ooh Claus Porto soap looks lovely (adds to notes!)

Tracker1234 · 11/06/2024 21:52

I use both too…. So does my BF.

L'Occitane?

Tracker1234 · 11/06/2024 21:54

I find some body scrub under arms helps with the build up of antiperspirant along with the exfoliation gloves

Yes definitely. I sometimes use a glycolic acid too
People think I am mad scrubbing in between my toes but I always get comments about how nice I smell!

No suggestions but I am weirdly invested in this thread now.

Same! I want to buy whatever soap this is!

I use some charcoal face scrub on my armpits.
Was far too harsh for my face but is brilliant at removing deodorant. I might just be a cheapskate who does not like to throw things away Hmm

Was it this?

This thread is dangerous.

I’m going to buy a nesti Dante soap. I like floral or fruity scents as opposed to musky. Any recommendations?

Pinkypup · 11/06/2024 22:14

Or this? ‘Ribbon’ is printed rather than a ribbon though…

This thread has awakened my acquisitive streak 😄 I too love a gorgeously fragranced, luxuriantly creamy bar of soap.

I was dead chuffed when I discovered TK Maxx 20 odd years ago and found Mediterranean scents like bergamot and verbena. Scrumptious.

I still recall an oversized bar of goats milk and oat soap I bought from there that was a revelation in not drying out my skin.

I went through a neem soap phase, bought from Indian supermarkets in my very ethnically diverse area. And a Manuka honey soap phase, now I come to think of it!

Tbry24 · 11/06/2024 22:33

I’m watching this thread now. Such lovely soaps, I love the ones at Tkmaxx and the Kew garden ones (can get those in my local garden centre). I love nice bars of soap. It’s my birthday in a few days so hope I’m getting a posh soap now.

Tbry24 · 11/06/2024 22:34

Also I would ask your acquaintance as she will be thrilled you love it so much. I give pretty soaps over the years as little gifts, usually ones I’ve liked myself.

ReallyShouldBeDoingSomethingElse · 11/06/2024 22:35

None of the ones mentioned are quite right but thanks for all the suggestions. What this has shown me is that even if I never track down the particular soap in question there are loads of others to try so next time I'm near a Tkmaxx I will go in and sniff all the soaps as a starting point...

The Italian ones are usually the best, wrapped in stunning paper and quite often with a ribbon.

Claus Porto? They sell them in Liberty

clausporto.com/en/soaps

I got a set of those from my DP with a sweet soap dish. Looked amazing but sadly I found them disappointing.
