Help me find this mystery beautiful bar of soap!

I've Googled and failed to find it. There are plenty in similar packaging but then the bars inside are a different shape...

I was given a beautiful bar of soap as a gift. It smelled divine, was great for my skin and it lasted ages. I want to buy another bar but can't find it. Does anyone know of a soap brand that fits this description?:

Big rectangular bar (bigger than a standard soap bar)

White/pale cream in colour

Wrapped in thick good quality paper with a lovely colourful pattern/image on it. Vague recollection of orange/red colours

Black ribbon around it

I'm convinced the fragrance was pomegranate but could have been passionfruit

A brand I'd never heard of (think probably Italian/Spanish)

Just put yourself out of your misery & ask them? They will be delighted that you liked it so much.
Incase they did re gift it or whatever then they will just say they can't remember where they got it from.

For now I've ordered a Nesti Dante bar. I will report back when it arrives. I've kept the last little bit of the magical mystery bar for comparison purposes.

I love Nesti Dante! I've replenished my supply this week. They all smell gorgeous and will last ages. I bought them from www.escentual.com though, as much cheaper than Amazon. I bought 6 bars and p@p was free. Blush

Finally a picture

@NerdWhoEatsMedlar

Thanks for that - the packaging looks similar in terms of the paper and the ribbon but the print is definitely different. I might try to if the other brand I've ordered turns out to be wrong.

That’s it, it’s heavenly!

I know it's not the soap you are after but another nice brand is the Kew Garden range

viques · 11/06/2024 15:41

Will people please stop advising other people to buy lovely soap in TKMaxx. It is hard enough to elbow my way to their reduced soap counter to pick up bargains without encouraging others to do the same.

flounce.

ps the Kew Gardens soaps are lovely, I bought a few to put by for presents when I was there last week.

Could it be Santa Maria Novella melograno (pomegranate) or Claus Porto? Both are sold at Liberty’s. They don’t come with a ribbon but that could have been added to it by the person who gifted it to you.

Thank you for reminding me about Santa Maria Novella, I'd forgotten about it!

ReallyShouldBeDoingSomethingElse · 11/06/2024 16:30

Thanks - definitely not these though. This is what we've gone back to after our lovely pomegranate soap that lasted for 3 months and I now can't stand how the Faith in Nature soap is slimy and goes into a mulched splodge after barely any use. My skin is also not so keen on it (although it's tons better than most soap bars).

I buy similar sounding soaps from The English Soap Company...they also stock the Kew ones (may even make them actually). Only thing is the lack of a black ribbon but perhaps the person giving you the soap added one!

Sound like the one we had but that was Kew Gardens branded I think, no idea who made it though. Garden centre sells them

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 11/06/2024 16:59

Are any of these lovely recommendations palm oil free, by chance? Always in the market for a lovey orangutan friendly soap.

Elodie9 · 11/06/2024 17:32

Nesti dante soaps are lovely - tripled milled dontcha know , so more lovely soap. less moisture, (or something.)
I used to go to Sardinia regularly and there was a beautiful little shop nearby which stocked them. It smelled gorgeous.

ReallyShouldBeDoingSomethingElse · 11/06/2024 18:18

The Jo Malone ones are the wrong shape and I feel as though I'd have remembered that brand as I've heard of it.

Favorito by Claus Porto is my very favourite (appropriately named) soap. Is oval shape though.

I bet it's one from TKMaxx as pp have suggested.

Shinyandnew1 · 11/06/2024 18:33

Nesti Dante soaps are lovely but as others have said, don’t have a ribbon.

I’d message the buyer and say, ‘random question, but you don’t happen to remember where you got my soap present from, do you? It’s so lovely and I want to buy some more.’

That gives her a get out if she’s embarrassed by where it came from/was regifted from, but she might just come up trumps!
