How many do you own? Which ones are your favourite and why? Your best combinations? The ones you still canโ€™t get right? If you only could keep one?

I have 3 MAC for my green-grey eyes, Satin Taupe, All That Glitters and Sable. Keep one - Dior Beige Mitzah. UD Tease - Matte option for work. On the lookout for brown and light neutral colours that would not make me look tired but would be good clean look with a bright lip.

I rarely use powder shadows- i'm all about the cream or liquid: stupidly easy to use and more importantly from a mum perspective- quick! I like brans such as elf, mina, nyx. All affordable. I've tried more expensive brands but get the same results :)

Please donโ€™t buy or use Morphe eyeshadows! They have toxic ingredients in that can cause severe allergic reactions. Sadly I know through personal experience.

You will notice that they call them โ€˜artistry palettesโ€™ instead of eyeshadow palettes as they actually have ingredients in them that are unsafe to put near your eyes and so they can claim that it was never their intended use as they donโ€™t use the word โ€˜eyeโ€™ in the packaging.

Currently a huge lawsuit being filed against them in the USA but they are still selling the palettes in Boots in the UK last time I checked.

They also don't go on well. I find the more neutral shades to be low on pigment and don't last long at all. Shame as the shades look good!

The only eyeshadows I use now are the Bobbi Brown eye crayon things. I have them in almost every colour so probably have about 20. They are fantastic-easy to apply, no fallout on your cheeks and don't budge all day.

Anyone recommend a good base for eyeshadows?

I tried Urban Decay and wasnโ€™t that impressed - I now just use a bit of concealer then powder but do worry that Iโ€™m missing a trick.

I tend to use Mac eyeshadows but Max Factor quite good too for neutral shades on a budget level.

Iโ€™m not a fan of anything too sparkly, like a satin finish.

Tempted by Tom Ford and Lisa Eldridge now after reading this thread.

Cream or liquid. Iโ€™m one and done. Ellis Faas, Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown.
I have the Westman Atelier eye pods in Rendezvous, which are beautiful, but I seem to only use the pink.
I like the Trinny London shadows, but the glittery ones wear badly on me.
I did a cull of colours I did not wear or really didnโ€™t like and now have pink, taupe/brown, peach, plum, one green and one light grey blue. All matte except for two Rose Inc ones which are glow rather than glittery.

@Back21970 You really don't need a base for the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow crayons and similar. They stick like glue and really don't budge in the slightest. I find when I use powder eyeshadow even if I use a primer I always get slight flecks on my cheeks
