Anyone else hate high rise jeans/trousers?

I look terrible in high rise jeans. They really don’t flatter my bum at all. Emphasise my sticky out stomach too.

Mid rise are way better. Hold my tummy in more and make my bum look perkier. Anyone else? I love the look of high rise but they do nothing for me.

But don’t they cut into your body or tummy when you sit down?
As that’s the same reason why I like low rise because they’re low and so aren’t by your waist to cut in.
Mid rise is even worse!

No they really don't that's why I started wearing them because they are so much more comfortable, I find low or mid rise dig right in at the belt buckle. I can Christmas scoff all day and night in these and never have to loosen my belt & look like a burst sofa 😂

Springwatch123 · 29/05/2024 23:22

No, they don’t cut in.

If I gave a low- rise pair of jeans, I end up with a builders bum. They just don’t fit my body.

Thank you !! I've done quite well at losing baby weight but I have a rounded tummy and they just make me look fat!! Hipsters would be better with a slightly loose top but the heavier fabric just emphasises my tummy!!

Plus what is it with all the elastane? Is it just me or do jeans with 2% plus elastane just get bigger and bigger throughout the day? By evening I'm having to haul them up every few minutes!

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/05/2024 23:30

Love them, far more comfortable than other types. The waist sits where a woman’s waist actually is.

They're good if you've got a long body and short legs. I've got a short body and long legs and I hate them with the heat of a thousand suns.

I'm the same short body with long legs & I can't get away with them. They are very unforgiving on me 😬

SwedishEdith · 30/05/2024 00:07

I love them as they're not high waisted on me, just waisted.

I'm the same, and I also hate them! There's too much fabric, they are uncomfortable, and they make me look even larger than I already am.

isthismylifenow · 30/05/2024 05:41

It just depends on your body shape.

I only wear high waist and just bought another pair of Levi Ribcage as I have a fear of them being discontinued.

But I have a really long torso and short legs so they are perfect to make me look in proportion.

I tried on some mid and low rise that I had packed away, they are awful on me and just so uncomfortable.

I had not been able to find jeans that flatter me for so many years, so I think it's only right that I get some time to shine 😃

KickAssAngel · 30/05/2024 06:09

I have a high waist and love high rise. Mid rise cut in, particularly when I sit down. Low rise are actually low fall. Slowly but surely they just slide down.

StarlightLady · 30/05/2024 07:06

Anyone hate high rise? Me!

l like to wear a top on my upper half, not have jeans that come up to my bra. Sow a couple of straps on them and you can convert them to dungarees!

BigButtons · 30/05/2024 07:09

I love low rise- hate high rise. I have long legs and a short torso with almost no waist. I always end up trying to pull all my trousers down to my hips.

silverhamster · 30/05/2024 07:10

I like them, if I wear mid rise they dig in just below my navel which hurts when I bend over, and half my belly sticks over the top.

Devilsmommy · 30/05/2024 07:13

fashionqueen0123 · 29/05/2024 19:41

Yes I literally have no idea how anyone sits down in them. Let alone eats. Just weird.

Im desperate for low rise jeans to come back in. I had to get my last pair off Vinted.

I despise high rise and only wear low rise. Try EMP or even Shein. Plenty of low rise

Floisme · 30/05/2024 07:22

High waist for me. I find low waisted really uncomfortable plus I'm still scarred by all those years of having to deal with the sight of my manager's bum crack every day.

There is a balance between high rise and low rise - I wouldn't wear either of those, but mid rise are fine.

Einwegflasche · 30/05/2024 07:26

I like a mid rise best, followed by a high rise. I cannot bear low rise though - I feel like they're half falling off! 😂
Edit - I do have a long torso so, even with high rise, they don't come that far up my stomach!

🤣 maybe I’ll have to try them again.

That is what my low rise do now though. They feel like leggings if i get the right pair. But yes couldn’t do mid rise for that reason!

cheapskatemum · 30/05/2024 10:07

I think they suit hourglass shapes & I love them as that's my body type. Mid rise dig into the fleshy part of my hips, giving me a most unflattering outline. Really low rise jeans & trousers are at risk of falling down! I love that high rise ones fit snugly round my waist and stay there as it's my narrowest point. I find them really comfortable too.

SummerintheCity24 · 30/05/2024 10:13

They look hideous on me but it have only recently worked out I have a short body so I have to be careful I don’t look all bunched up around the middle.

This. High rise make everyone look fatter than they are, even the very slim.

I have to disagree with that, they definitely work for me, they give me a much better looking figure, no muffin top and I feel more comfortable and confident when wearing them too.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 30/05/2024 11:43

I hate them so much, I grew up in the eighties so they look so dated to me but I’ve also got a mild lordosis so they leave a gap at the back too.

Mid rise is so hard to find, has anyone found a good mid rise? I used to buy all saints but they are mostly high rise now.

SheilaWilde · 30/05/2024 11:51

I hate high rise. I used to love Seven and CoH jeans that were a normal rise and sat on my hips. I've now given up on all women's jeans and buy second hand men's Levis.

Funnywonder · 30/05/2024 12:03

I like them because they stay up. Maybe I'm just a weird shape (well, I am!) but mid rise jeans always fell down and then there was the muffin top😬 I don't wear anything tucked in because I can't stand the feeling, so the rise of my jeans matters very little aesthetically and I get to be comfortable.
