Is that picture for real Slouchy? Surely not! lol

Remotew · 05/04/2008 19:20

The photos made me laugh too. I've been dress shopping today for a spring ball and bought a lovely strappy no. I hope to god I dont look as hideous as most of them. Showed it to DD as a lesson in what not to wear.

captainmummy · 05/04/2008 19:32

it shows that no-one should wear a strappless dress. If you have no boobs there's nothing to hold it up, and too big and you are in danger of it falling down (or getting four-boob syndrome)

MT, well I just had another look and it was quite difficult to pick out which ones I was refering to . I think I can get away with describing the three with the caption "simple but elegant" as looking quite nice. Phew! I think I know where the term "beer goggles" means now, I have had a glass of wine this afternoon.

osyth · 05/04/2008 19:41

I meant what not where, obviously.

hifi · 05/04/2008 19:47

they all look like cart horses in cheap frocks.

SugarSkyHigh · 05/04/2008 19:54

why do they all look like they're wearing tablecloths???

Remotew · 06/04/2008 00:05

Captainmummy Oh no! my new dress is strapless. Boobs not too small or big and I jumped up and down to make sure its secure. Its linen and from Warehouse, lovely length just below the knees. I'm sure I dont look like those tasteless tarts at the races

Scramble · 06/04/2008 00:46

Oh my 99.99% of those were awful Only good choice was the monochrom with the opaque tights good choice when snow is forcast.

Scottish national next week and they are just as scantily clad, perhaps not as ridiculous though .

NutterlyUts · 06/04/2008 01:08

I think the girl in pink looks fantastic but she's the only one I've found

captainmummy · 06/04/2008 10:01

Nutterly - the dress is lovely but I can see a point at which she will surreptitiously pull the lot back up!

DJCod · 06/04/2008 16:51

HERE

twinsetandpearls · 06/04/2008 17:03

Thanks, these are the exact same women who go to the Blackpool Christmas ball.

beckyvicky · 06/04/2008 17:08

little story about g/national day a few years ago - while on a slow moving coach nearing the course, we were keeping pace with a girl in a shortish dress and hold ups - except the hold ups weren't holding up well. Every 10 yards she was having to stop and hitch them up (classy) while we on the coach could n't help but watch and snigger. She was also contending with an impatient bf walking ahead of her and obviously tutting at her constant stops.
Finally, she hops behind a low wall (in view of us all), took off her shoes, and just took off the holdups and shoved them in her bag.
To a round of applause from us all

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/04/2008 17:11

Good god - that poor misinformed fool who wrote about the innate style of scouse women in last weeks ST style must be cringing

What a load of trashy munters

LOL though.

giggly · 06/04/2008 21:17

Yup hope for me yet!

What were they thinking? with the exception of Kim Marsh they all look like trolls, tf I'm not from Liverpool.

helenelisabeth · 06/04/2008 23:35

I went to Ladies Day on Friday and I can categorically state that the papers have shown the worst outfits you could find in 60,000 people. Of course they're not going to show the good ones, the snobs in Fleet Street wouldn't want scousers to look good. Thought the majority of you on here would realise that.

casbie · 07/04/2008 08:50

one thing you would never say to these women -

go on love, grab your coat, you've scored!

; )

all you need is a nice coat and lovely shoes, bra or no bra!

newgirl · 07/04/2008 14:34

gosh

im sort of impressed that people are wearing what the hell they like regardless of age or shape

Seasider · 07/04/2008 14:47

That was fabulous, the photographers must have been pi**ing themselves.

As my hairdresser says what a "chav-alanche

newgirl · 07/04/2008 18:43

chavalanche - that is a classic phrase!!
