Only nice and positive things though, bitchy and snarky comments are not welcome!

The sun is shining and I have seen women of all shapes and sizes in their shorts. I know that around this time of year threads about flattering shorts start appearing and people are self conscious so I say if the sun is shining don’t worry about other people, just wear your shorts.

I have yet to see anyone in horseshoe jeans though I read in the Guardian today that they are the jeans of the season. They looked hideous in the paper; maybe they look better in real life?

I absolutely love how the younger generation wear pretty much what they want, and don't dress to look skinnier or shrink themselves. Much better than the 90s when we all tried to disappear ourselves through the magic of clothing.

We didn't though. T-shirts and shirts were baggy and we often paired big tops with long skirts giving quite a bulky look, a bit like youngsters now.

I saw two young women yesterday in long slips (sort of like slinky negliges) with crop tops on top.

Have just googled horseshoe jeans. Perhaps I am getting old but wtf are those? They are hideous.

I've seen a few very lovely pale co ord sets, some lovely floaty dresses and yes, lots of trainers and much less in the way of sandals below a certain age at least

Saw some lovely really simple t shirt dresses today.

And lovely to see people enjoying the beach and swimming in the sea whatever their shape.

I’m on the larger size and went for a dip. I then embarrassed myself by walking home wearing my poncho towel😳

I looked nice enough in my sundress when I went out though😎 Changing on the beach after a swim is its own horror that I like to avoid though!

Agreed.

The notion of "trying to disappear ourselves through the magic of clothing" is alive and well on here in all the threads about flattering dresses/ pear shaped/ apples/ how do I hide ? [whatever has to be hidden] , I can't wear x because [insert usually spurious reason]

Bit random but I've been reading a lot about Jane Birkin recently and now I feel like every single look and style we associate with summer in 2024 somehow still relates back to this one person!
Denim, broderie, baskets, dark tan, crochet, wide legs... Etc.
Also I realised even Taylor Swift has her hair(though Taylor's is a lot thicker I imagine).
Bit random but that's my random observation.

I saw these guys today at the Cavalry Memorial Parade and they looked amazing..... hot but amazing. There were lots of simple summer tea dresses in pale blues and greens with simple trainers and pale chinos and pastel shirts in evidence in Hyde park from the many partners, wives and mothers in attendance
