Hi! I'm looking for the holy grail of non-matt, so I guess 'dewy' foundation to make my very tired looking skin 'glow'. Price not a big issue within reason - £30 plus is fine, as is £5. Help!

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. Bloody brilliant stuff, sits really nicely on the skin, doesn't sink into pores or look chalky. It's the bees knees.

Edited to add... I'm in my 50s too, albeit with good skin, and I love it.

In the land between bare skin and makeup makeup exists the imperceptible wash of color that is Perfecting Skin Tint

I have given up on foundations - I now add my old favourite foundation into a pot of my moisturiser and I look way better than when I wore the foundation on its own. My moisturiser is also a super-cheap on that I am able to slather on without a care in the world for how much it costs - I find it better than the expensive moisturisers I used to use.

missourdog · 09/05/2024 15:17

It’s not a foundation but I recently took a chance and ordered Excuviance skinrisr morning glow pads (a green jar), because it had such good reviews and my skin just feels a bit tired and no glow (just turned 50). They were expensive, but I honestly can’t believe the difference they instantly make. I use it under my foundation (Origins VitaZing). Half a pad is more than enough so I cut mine in half and use the excess on my hands. Skin glows all day.

I also use Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate face oil which makes a huge difference, it’s a petty it’s sooo expensive though.

I've just started using Erborian. Probably won't work if you want really thick coverage but it's very like a moisturiser and no flaking/sitting in creases, I've got the CC and the BB cream. One of then comes out white and then goes coloured when you rub it in - magic! I am 52 and really wrinkly.

ASighMadeOfStone · 09/05/2024 17:58

Erborian BB - fabulous medium cover, but with a slight glow.

Otherwise N7 Hydraluminous.

Mirabai · 09/05/2024 18:03

Christian Dior Forever Skin Glow or Estée Lauder

FiatEarth · 09/05/2024 18:07

Just add some glow drops to your usual foundation.

I like these ones

L’Oreal Paris Highlighting Drops, Glow Mon Amour Sparkling Love

Orangewall · 09/05/2024 18:23

No7 hydraluminous
L’Oréal glotion (fairly new I think, they used to make something similar and discontinued, I wear alone and it’s lovely and glowy)
elf halo glow which is a dupe of the Charlotte tilbury
I’m not in my mid 50’s but my mum is and she routinely either raids these products from me or uses them herself!

When you're mixing up all these things, how do you not get it all pilling together in little balls.

Ive got some Origins serum, to apparently make my skin glow/brighten, but that seems to cause pilling, then my Nuxe oil seems to react to this as well I think

Same here. But not with the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate face oil, it’s great!

Cocopogo · 09/05/2024 21:08

Another one for No7 hydraluminous. I’m in my 40s but look like I’m in my 60s but whenever I wear this people tell my I’m looking well.

RampantIvy · 09/05/2024 21:15

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I just look like a better version of me without looking made up.

goingdownfighting · 09/05/2024 22:15

Bobbi brown serum foundation. Is amazing

HydrangeaRose · 09/05/2024 22:20

It cosmetics , it’s worth buying their brush as well . About £35 ish I think for cc cream and similar for the brush , it’s dewy , glowy , light and I think improves your skin too .

rockingbird · 09/05/2024 22:21

I use the Aldi serum and mix with their tinted moisturiser - gives a wonderful glow and very soft appearance. www.aldi.co.uk/lacura-cc-serum-primer/p/722839788381201

BTsrule · 09/05/2024 22:22

Trinny BFF serum gives a lovely glow - costs £38

suki1964 · 09/05/2024 23:01

No7 hydra-luminous is a good starting point , esp as they give generous samples so you can wear for a week or two before deciding

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/05/2024 06:03

Estée Lauder Futurist is lovely,

Sparkletastic · 10/05/2024 06:57

Erborian BB is the best on my over 50 oily skin.

AnSionnachGlic · 10/05/2024 07:13

Your Skin but Better IT cc cream. I use the original but you can get matt or radiant/glowy version too. It's light but still blurs imperfections on skin without looking cakey. I'm 53 ...do have goodish skin and this makes it look so much better. And it also has factor 50 in it!

Products will pill even on their own if they contain silicones. Most serums do, that's how they create the smoothing effect.
I've not used the Origins one you mentioned, but it's probably that. If you can leave some time between applying it and then any other products it should be ok.

henlake7 · 10/05/2024 09:12

I just use Garnier BB cream, it seems to go on smoothly and is nice and cheap.
I always struggled to find a concealer that wasnt cakey and didnt settle in wrinkles. Best one Ive found comes from Primark so....result!😄

NigelHarmansNewWife · 10/05/2024 09:48

No.7 Hydraluminous. I find I only get pilling when I put lots on of anything. Minimal amounts definitely better in that respect.

NonBinaryBlanket · 10/05/2024 09:53

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser over Sugar House Organics 22 Cream. A great combo that makes my skin look dewy and healthy.

Feelingblue77 · 10/05/2024 10:50

@TorroFerney would you mind describing the difference between the Eborian CC and BB? I've had the CC before I think, the one that comes out white and then blends. Is the BB similar but more coverage?
Thanks so much!
