Recommendations... non wired bras!

Heya, I am looking for non-wired bras that are comfortable.

I want good support but still give a good shape and dare I say it might make me feel nice 😅

I have slipped into wearing crop tops and sports bras and they are giving me quite the one boob look at the moment.

I don't know what they are called but M&S do these lacy bralets which give my boobs shape. I'm a 36 C and they hold me up quite well but I am conscious as not enough support so I do wobble!! But I can't ever go back to underwired and padded!!

Having tired of my crop tops, I got a couple of these Body Soft M&S bras
They give a nice shape.

My DD wears these, she has cup size E and they do look good. She also has the wired version which she now prefers though.

They wash well and stay in shape.

I have never really got on with bralettes that don't have a clasp, if they fit me round the ribcage then they are too tight on my bust.

I have found 4 bras that work for me so far though (30E).

The 2 most recent, which are also the ones that I am most happy with are:

skims - this might be the most comfortable bra I have ever worn, and gives a decent shape. The S-DD is a good fit for me. Annoyingly the UK stockists like selfridges don't sell this style, but I tried on similar styles to get an idea of size before ordering.

Hanro - hideously expensive, but really comfortable and looks more like a "proper" bra. Don't go down to a 30 band, but the 32E fits me well. Decent shape and support:

Other than these, I have also like the Panache Andorra non-wired bra, which is similar to the Hanro but half the price - but whereas the Hanro is soooo soft, the lace on the Panache is quite scratchy feeling.

Also Next do a pack of 3 wireless bras for about £30 which I think are pretty good.

@RockaLock agree about the lack of back fastening. I'm also a 30E and find that if it's tight enough to give any support, it will be too tight to wrestle it on over my head and shoulders.
I also like the Panache Andorra but agree it's a bit scratchy.

I had to swap to wirefree bras after cracking a rib.
I ended up buying M&S nursing bras! you get some funny looks when you are trying these on as a white haired 60 year old!

What is it about a nursing bra that you can't find in a non-nursing one?
Or is it that you found they worked for you and just didn't bother looking further (if it ain't broke and all that....).

I thought at first you'd broken a rib wearing a wired bra - that would have been quite impressive!

Well, I used to ride, and with large norks I had to have a VERY supportive wired bra. It looked like it was made in Russia by a bloke who had had a bra described to him, but it had lost a lot in translation.

One day cantering along, horse spots a rabbit, and swerves, I exit stage right and land on my side. My cracked ribs exactly corresponded to where the heavy duty iron underwiring of my riding bra was situated. I swear that the bra did cause a worse injury than it would've been if I'd been wearing something with a bit more give.

i swear by gilly hicks https://www.hollisterco.com/shop/uk/gilly-hicks/p/gilly-hicks-micro-triangle-bralette-52187822?categoryId=610537410&faceout=model&seq=01 i have these in every colour and they even wash well.

I’ve had a mastectomy and only have one boob! As a result, I’ve tried multiple bras - looking for comfort and padding so that one side doesn’t look empty.
I wear this one and it’s brilliant. Although it appears to be out of stock online, shops have a few in and they can order via a separate system. Can’t recommend. It enough for comfort, support and look.

It’s the same with ‘over the head’ sports bras! I very nearly resorted to scissors once (the alternative was dislocating a shoulder) when trying to get one off!
