Recommendations... non wired bras!

Starlight19 · 08/05/2024 15:43

Heya, I am looking for non-wired bras that are comfortable.

I want good support but still give a good shape and dare I say it might make me feel nice 😅

I have slipped into wearing crop tops and sports bras and they are giving me quite the one boob look at the moment.

You could take the wire out of any ones you currently have?

gardenmusic · 21/05/2024 15:22

GogAndMagog - the problem with that is the lack of support - those with wires were not designed to give support from elsewhere in the bra. I did try this out once, and was left bouncing as I walked. They just looked as if they were in two pretty bags.
I am seeking something that will keep my breasts pointing outwards, and vaguely in the right position. What was that old ad? 'Lift and seperate'

you want Doreen. She’s the original sheepdog bra - rounds them up and points them in the right direction! Been a bestseller forever as very well engineered. I own a couple for work( physical job) and find them super comfortable.

DOREEN

Just like an iconic superstar, our best-selling Doreen bra keeps reinventing itself and coming back stronger.

Thank you, I actually ordered a Doreen this afternoon. I had not planned to, Mumsnet made me do it!

WhereAreWeNow · 21/05/2024 18:22

Kind of depends on what size you are. If you're smaller, the Uniqlo ones give a good moulded shape. If you're bigger and don't want padding, Panache Andorra non wired version is good. Or there are a couple of good Fantasie non wired styles that give a good shape.

MickyShell · 21/05/2024 20:19

Try Magic Wire bras by Triumph. The have a kind of 'wire' that gives good support and great shape but it is soft and flexible. I cannot bear normal wired bras at all but can happily wear these all day. They have a range of styles too.

OwlIceCrem · 21/05/2024 20:33

Another vote for Sloggi zero feel- they are all I wear and I’ll never do anything else again

MickyShell · 21/05/2024 21:05

Went to look for the Triumph Magic Wire bras I love and mentioned up post but can't seem to find them anywhere. A few left here and there: https://amzn.eu/d/5D8BVwL but not in my size. Am slightly panicking that I'll never find a decent bra again 😱 I'm going to call them tomorrow as I see some new magic wire lines were released last year but only seem to be available in Hong Kong and Japan so hoping they will reach the UK at some point. In the meantime I will continue panicking 😨

Following with interest

Sloggi Zero feel did nothing for me. I've got a narrow back (28 or 30), but E-cup. So anything small enough in the back isn't big enough for my boobs.

I wear M&S bralettes day-to-day (working at home), which are super comfy but not that supportive and lose their elasticity after a while, and their flexifit wired bras if I'm working in the office, which given an ok shape and aren't as agonisingly uncomfortable as I find most wired bras now.

They sound similar to the Victoria Secret infinity flex - which also seems to have been discontinued.

thank you for this thread ladies !!

UnimaginableWindBird · 22/05/2024 07:11

I have the Snag bra which is very comfortable and gives impressive uplift but is less good on shaping.

dudsville · 22/05/2024 10:19

I have Triumph Amourette 300 and think they're really comfortable. I also wear sloggi go-all-around, which I like but are hot for summer and might give you the mono-boob you're tryig to avoid.

Mistymorin · 22/05/2024 12:05

St Mary of Sweden! They are a bit pricy but well worth it!!

I think it's Miss Mary. Although anyone making a properly fitting, comfortable bra certainly deserves sainthood.

I used to swear by the M&S Body range of bras, the non wired one was great, but sadly they “improved” the range and the sizing doesn’t work for me any more

PickAChew · 24/05/2024 22:09

I got one of these, this week, and actually managed to keep it on until dinner time without it hurting me like even some of my soft cup bras do. Not great lift but enough to stop me from tripping over them!

I used to wear a Doreen when I was younger and I think I might just try another one.

MODERN SOFT+COTTON

This striped cotton bra is a dream to wear. Super-soft with smooth moulded cups and no wire. You’ll forget you’re even wearing it.

DoctorDolittle · 24/05/2024 23:28

I just recently bought a Doreen for the first time in years, and it (she?) is a joy to wear. Very comfortable and I didn’t recognise my non-droopy silhouette at all 😆.
I bought another three.

Althenameshavegone · 25/05/2024 07:19

I’m a 30E, I’ve got some mooby bras arriving soon after succumbing to targeted Instagram ads at 5am. Will report back

MissBridgetJones · 25/05/2024 08:41

Another vote for the M&S Bodysoft - but I like the plunge rather than full cup
