Couldn't see a thread but is anyone else eagerly awaiting the looks from the met gala?!

I expect we'll see lots of florals and a few duvets..

The theme of the exhibition is - Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion

Whilst the dress code is - The Garden of Time

Also wondering if Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner might make a red carpet debut together..

Hoping Blake Lively is going.. and Pedro Pascal..

I always hope that the men attending will think outside the box a bit and go for something a bit more bold..

all the men were obviously very comfortable in their tuxs, Seth Meyer even said he wears the same one for every event.

Men should be banned from wearing plain black tuxes.

I hadn't seen Georgina Chapman so just looked her up. She looks gorgeous!

My favourite was Emma Chamberlain followed by Zendaya. I do quite like Lana Del Ray even though the headpiece is bonkers.

I really liked Dan Levy’s suit. I didn’t recognise him at first because of the moustache.

Nicole Kidman's dress put me in mind of a giant merkin.

It wasn't just the cardi but the bobbling. So glad all my favs bobbly jumpers are now considered avant garde fashion. Maybe DD will be less embarrassed to be seen with me.

They have a bit of chat about The Met Gala on The Rest is Entertainment podcast today. It was obviously recorded before the event but the chat about the history behind it and how Anna Wintour has to approve what you are going to wear beforehand is fascinating!

Some standouts for me:
Tyla - I don't even know who she is, but she looked stunning, dress/hair/makeup
Sarah Jessica Parker - somehow she always nails it.
karlie Kloss - the pink dress with the sparkly vines and flowers was stunning.

a miss for me: Dua Lipa - somehow it was just messy and confusing.

I think one of my favorites was Eiza González Rivera, it wasn't the most outlandish or stunning, but it was pretty, delicate and really did look like petals, although I wasn't a fan of the necklace she wore with it, I didn't think it went with the dress

At least they look smart.

I thought Lewis Hamilton was the best dressed there

Lewis Hamiton did look amazing! I loved Coleman Domingo's look as well

Yes, Phoebe Dynevor looked incredible. My favourite. Liked Zendaya's first look but wasn't so keen on the second. Kim K looked beautiful actually, but she does need to stop winching her waist quite so tight.

Kendall Jenner looked amazing- loved her dress. Also loved Phoebe Dyvenor and Dan Levy. The sand dress was incredible.

So over the see through dresses. They were only interesting when Cher did them decades ago.

Kendal is ( I think) naturally beautiful, the only one of her sisters who is.
Yes Phoebe looked amazing, she was glowing. Will have to google Dan Levy.
I lived SJP, I like how she is aging naturally and still looking great.

I love Haute Le Mode on YouTube and his observations and opinions of the clothes. He talks about the history of fashion, fabrics and design choices in addition to his personal opinion of whether he likes them or not.
He explains Kim’s cardigan in more depth. It’s quite a clever choice and definitely a nod to the theme of the exhibition.

Phoebe's makeup and dress were perfection, she was ethereal.
Liked Mindy Kalings. I thought Zendayas ones were fab, but the first one was so dark it was hard to see the detail.
I liked Ayo Edebiri's fresh floral dress and makeup.
Lizzo's was godawful, bad colour, bad shape, like a costume you'd make for your worst enemy who was playing a tree in their school play. Really poorly executed.
Nicole Kidmans was a weird shape, unflattering cut.
I'm sick of Kim and her extreme body shape guff, big bum now extremely tiny waist. The cardi was hiding something that went wrong for sure.
Liked Lana Del Rey too.

I just watched a video of Kim Kardashian on the vogue YouTube channel, it's of her final dress fitting before the MET.

I didn't realise that as well as barely being able to breathe, her shoes were also heel-less. Massive platforms but she had to walk on tiptoes the whole time. No wonder she looked unsteady! Apparently any heel would have got caught in the metal of the skirt.

And the cardigan was in the original sketches of the outfit from John Galliano. She explained it (she's just woken up from a night in the garden and has grabbed her boyfriend's sweater) but I still don't like it.

Shes had a lot of work done definitely a nose job and lip filler.
