Please help me find a gorgeous dress for a wedding reception

I really need help finding a dress for a June wedding, just the evening do.

I'm a size 10/12 ( bigger on the hips than on top) and 5"10. I only go out a couple of times a year and I'd love something that makes me feel amazing and be a bit of a jaw dropper.

I can't go too short as I'm carrying a bit of cellulite at the back of my legs and it makes me a bit insecure.

If you've had your eye on a beautiful dress, please can you link it so I can get some inspiration or just plain old copy!

It looks like a cheap bridesmaid dress from the 80s that someone has fallen into a muddy puddle in.

I found a dress I loved and a dressmaker made it for me, exactly for me, at probably a quarter the cost -- I paid for the fabric. It was very reasonable and I still adore the dress. Winter wedding, soft green wool. Find a dressmaker :)

What colors and styles do you like? I have a strapless, sweet, embroidered around the top with pearls, size 10 dress w/ soft-colors, 100% silk, lined, slit up the back, floor or ankle length. Perfect for a summer wedding. I got it a few yrs ago at a boutique sale... but it has been hanging in my closet since because I have gained too much weight, plus I feel it is too young looking for me at this point. I am cleaning out my closet and just will practicly give it away.

I got a bombshell dress on Vinted. It's amazing!

Nice also got hot squash maxi dresses (also from Vinted) which are very flattering and really comfy. They have pockets too!!!

Hmm is it a very formal wedding OP? That dress is divine but I agree with the PP that it may be a bit much for an evening guest. I'd get it anyway though and save for a more special occasion.

The last evening do we were invited to, I was genuinely quite shocked at how casually some guests arrived and quite a few of the day guests had swapped outfits as well.

With your height a jump suit would be lovely. Especially for an evening wedding. I was at a wedding recently and one guest wore a one shoulder jump suit in red and it really stood out as she was tall enough to carry it off. You would also get more wear out of it as the summer comes along.

I've got it in teal and it's beautiful. Not sure they sell that colour any more but it'll be on vinted I'm sure.

My daughter wanted this for her cousins wedding but I've had to find a cheaper alternative. It is lovely though

That's truly shocking, it looks like they didn't have enough of either fabric so just cobbled them both together.

Be aware that red can be frowned upon slightly at a wedding. Connotations of sleeping with the groom/attempts at upstaging.

Understandable you want to look fabulous, but jaw dropping is for the bride.
