I just bought a Ghost dress and Whistles jump suit. They have some lovely things in.

The beginning of the end for mulberry???

GingerHat · 01/05/2024 13:04

Although I see Gucci and Balmain items on the link too.

henlake7 · 01/05/2024 15:11

Under a grand by 1 penny!😁

give me a call when they are under a tenner!!😆

AsphaltBeach · 01/05/2024 15:30

It's not a fabulous sale tbh. I had an Alexa from the Outlet a few months back for £499, and there were quite a few options well under the prices TK's are asking there.

The beginning of the end for mulberry???

That's what I was thinking too I'm afraid.

They've had to put some huge reductions in-store on the weird padded ones. I could have bought one in the Bath shop for £250 the other day. I didn't as I think they are quite hideous!

Sara93 · 01/05/2024 15:47

The Alexa bags were half this price in the recent showcase sample sale

HesterPrincess · 01/05/2024 18:55

I got a much better deal from the Mulberry store at Bicester - got an oxblood zipped Bayswater for £750. They had so many bags in store at good prices.

Spirallingdownwards · 01/05/2024 18:57

I was going to say wait until John Lewis do their 20% off and get this season's ones. Not big enough a drop to chance TK Maxx.

Oh I think that ship has long since sailed

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2024 19:16

They're only 20% less than normal price

That's less than the mulberry sale !Grin

The facebook groups went mad for the Softies! I think they are awful 😬

I’m not a fan of mulberry anymore but just picked up a whistles jumpsuit I’d seen and considered at £159 for £29 so I’m very pleased. Thanks op

EachandEveryone · 01/05/2024 23:56

I got the same one and I just hope it fits 😃

I wouldn’t say that article is entirely accurate. Mulberry used to be very well made staples- classics that were beautifully constructed. For a few years now they’ve become more poorly made and just down right awful. People are moving away and wanting better.

Summerhillsquare · 02/05/2024 10:25

Meanwhile they do have some good deals on Hush - surely a Mumsnet favourite?

OolongTeaDrinker · 02/05/2024 10:43

I can’t believe how expensive mulberry is these days - I got my Bayswater about 10 years ago and it was £450 or so at the airport. If I had a grand to spend on a bag I wouldn’t spend it on a mulberry that’s for sure!

beguilingeyes · 02/05/2024 13:20

There was a gorgeous dove grey Alexa in the Westfield Stratford one yesterday. I didn't have a grand on me though...

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 02/05/2024 15:05

Blimey, the bag in the guardian thumbnail is revolting.

I am sure that I got my Bayswater about 20 years ago for under £400!

Back in the days when Mulberry made pretty much all their leather goods down in Chilcompton (and had an eccentric little factory shop in the village) DH & I used to buy so much from them for very reasonable prices (furniture/luggage/bedding/tablewear/bags/wallets/towels/jackets/raincoats/shirts/polos....). Their clothing was also very traditional and well made. In current prices, a small handbag or suitcase would have been sub £200.

We still have some Mulberry towels in the bathroom that have to be 20-25 years old.

IsoldeWagner · 02/05/2024 19:01

Those Mulberry bags are so ugly, and the one in the Guardian thumbnail is hideous!

You are kidding! Sometimes I think these handbag manufacturers are trolling women.
