Sweatshirts without place names - how hard can it be?

I’d like some casual sweatshirts and prefer something other than plain colours but all I can find in my usual haunts is ones with the names of American cities or other far-flung destinations. Or occasionally some crap French phrase or self-love slogan.

Where on Earth can I get something a bit different without any of these things?

Next has some nice ones at the moment, hiding in amongst all the stupid slogans.

Try Urban Outfitters.

Primark have loads with pictures on. Etsy is a good place to look, some lovely embroidered sweatshirts.

I wonder whether in America they wear sweatshirts with Croydon or Blackpool emblazoned across the front

😂

I could start a whole thread for this

I think charities often do nice ones - like this RSPB one of a starling murmuration.

They are nice.

I like this one with the 'tour dates' on the back.

Do it!

“AIBU to design sweatshirts for the oversees market and would you prefer Slough or Bognor?”

Local shop to me screen prints in house, maybe too slogan-y for you but they have some really nice designs.

Those are lovely!

Try Colourful Standsrd

CruCru · 25/04/2024 16:48

Actually they have quite a few non-plain sweatshirts

CoffeeAndStripedtops · 25/04/2024 17:36

I love Boden sweatshirts, and tend to buy them on eBay for wearing around the house. Cute, warm and comfy...

TheChosenTwo · 25/04/2024 17:41

I find it quite easy as I only ever opt for plain! I do like that ombré one from Hush though.
Hate anything with a branded logo on it or slogan or a place name etc, they’re just so naff!
I also wondwr if there are people across the pond wearing hoodies with ‘Scarborough’ or ‘Bognor Regis’ emblazoned on the front, photo of a windswept beach in the rain with a sweet elderly couple in deckchairs with umbrellas protecting their 99’s with a flake… aspirational! just seems weird to me.

Bipbopbee · 25/04/2024 17:44

Another recommendation for Muthahood. Gorgeous quality too and super soft. They wash well and hold their colours. Have some lovely flower print ones and the olive green striped.

Snooperdoop · 25/04/2024 18:16

Joanie do nice ones, but they're a bit short for my freakishly long body.

Also Rapanui probably worth a look. You can also design your own there which I've done successfully a few times for gifts.

If you put it on backwards , as I do, then at least you give the initial appearance of being not being drawn in by this current trend.
However as you walk away you give the lasting appearance of being a bit of a twat who can't dress properly.
Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

Also really handy for catching crumbs in the hood

LolaO · 25/04/2024 18:45

Scamp and Dude are my go-to for sweatshirts, really lovely cheerful colours and patterns.

Fatface has plain ones
