I have been using revolution face cream during the day and rosehip oil at night, but I have noticed my skin is actually really dry! Wrinkles and creases are more obvious. Help what can I use? I've never had dry skin before 😭

Try mixing your face oil in with the face cream morning and evening and apply to your face while your skin is still damp. If that’s not doing the trick you may want a thicker more emollient face cream and perhaps a hydrating serum (Hyaluronic acid/glycerin) serum before these things.
Dry and dehydrated skin actually mean different things:
Dry = does not produce enough oils to keep skin moisturised.
Dehydrated = does not have enough water in the upper layers of skin.
It seems like you may have dehydrated skin considering you are using a face oil and face cream. Would you mind sharing which products you are using?

Totallybannanas · 23/04/2024 18:35

Hi yes, mainly the ordinary cleanser and revolution day cream and ordinary rosehip oil at night.

In that case I would add in a hydrating serum (the ordinary have a few good ones) and apply on damp skin before applying your oil mixed with your face cream. I would also get a night cream to use at nighttime as the oil is not enough. Something like the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré would be great as it can be used in the morning and in the evening with the face oil over a serum.

Great thank you

Weleda skin food is fab for dry skin xx

unsync · 23/04/2024 22:23

Cetaphil is calming when skin gets dry and irritated.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 23/04/2024 22:53

I started using the Simple one that @cannaethink mentioned a few weeks ago after a recommendation on here and it's really helped my skin.

AWafferthinmint · 23/04/2024 22:54

Is it the revolution miracle cream you're using? If not, try that-it has been amazing on my pre menopausal dry skin.

Chirawehaha · 23/04/2024 22:56

Are you using SPF every day?

Amara123 · 23/04/2024 23:19

La Roche posay hydrating face cream in the toleraine range, really good and suitable for sensitive skin

Totallybannanas · 24/04/2024 07:58

Yes the revolution miracle cream and I have been using SPF too. My skin does look dehydrated but I also seem to have some dry patches around one cheek and nose. Not sure if it's what I have been using or due to weather temperatures. I do drink a lot of caffeine and not enough water.

I like Tatcha but it’s crazy expensive

ASighMadeOfStone · 24/04/2024 08:47

Look for a moisturizer with glycerine and squalane in the top ingredients. Can be as cheap as chips.

Weleda skin food at night, or good old Astral or Nivea.

LRP Toleriane Riche (Toleriane do 3 "consistencies" for sensitive skin. Both me and my daughter use it, she's oily and uses the option, I'm dry and use Riche.

Rosehip oil is recommended for the first signs of ageing and oilier skin. A more "fatty" oil would be argan, avocado etc.

GettingStuffed · 24/04/2024 09:33

Nivea or astral, the latter is a very moisturising cream, I wouldn't use it if my skin wasn't dry.

SoapCollector · 25/04/2024 20:57

@GettingStuffed have you found a cleanser that works well with these two creams? Or do you use the Astral or Nivea as a cleanser?

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2024 21:02

Blue Nivea at night although I use it in the morning sometimes in the winter my face feels great I mean I'm wrinkley but moisturised 😀

learieonthewildmoor · 25/04/2024 21:31

I would previously have suggested hyalauronic acid serum but now I say birch sap. You can get it from Korean beauty brands.
I really rate Clinique 100 hrs moisture surge and the 72 hr intense as night creams. You might want to try the 72 hr Intense.

Amara123 · 26/04/2024 15:47

There's also a lot of positive reviews for byoma. I've tried the purple one as a night cream and it's nicely rich.

UmberMoose · 26/04/2024 20:04

When I look at my skin in the mirror near a window it looks very crepe like, it's depressing 😭

My mum is nearly 60. Incredible skin. Only ever washed with water and has used SPF and body shop hemp hand cream on her face for as long as I remember. Take from that what you will! I'm mid 30s and do the same in hope!

SomethingIn · 27/04/2024 14:43

Are you using AHA acid to remove dead skin cells before applying your oil or moisturiser
