I just counted all my dresses…

And I have almost 60! I knew I had a lot but I’m still shocked at the total.

That does include some dresses which may only get worn once every couple of years (wedding guest / ballgown / cocktail / funeral attendee type dresses) but most are more everyday or work type dresses which tend to be worn more frequently.

I’ve just gone through them all with the aim of being totally ruthless and sending any I no longer like to the charity shop. At the end of this process I’ve managed to get rid of a grand total of…one dress 🤦‍♀️

In my defence, I think almost half of them are second hand and some are over ten years old, but I still like them and they still fit so it seems silly to get rid of them.

AND I only have two pairs of jeans and no other trousers except sports leggings. I guess I’m just a dress person.

How many dresses do you own? Please tell me I’m not the only one??

I am a dress person, I probably have about 30-40 but I wear a dress most days - work, socialising and in warm weather. I wear short dresses with shorts underneath for walking. I find them really comfortable.

I have all my clothes on Pinterest boards so I always keep track of what I have and use Vinted to get rid of anything I stop wearing.

Also to add I only wear dresses.

If you want to sell them you could sell on Vinted, but be careful or you may end up buying more than you sell 😀.

But it they bring you joy and you don't need the space keep and wear them.

I have about 6 dresses , 3 jumpsuits,, 3 skirts 2 pairs of work trousers, 6 jeans, 4 cargo trousers,
But mostly wear joggers/ leggings! Work from home!

I'm not a dress person and just went to check my wardrobe thinking it would be less than 10. Turns out I have 14. I wear them very rarely and have had some for years and years (and not worn some for years either). I tend to wear them only when it's very hot in summer, when I'm on holiday somewhere hot (to wear out for meals) or very occasionally, for a special occasion.

I don't like my skinny legs and don't like to wear the kind of shoes you usually wear with dresses. If I can get away with ankle boots, trainers or flat sandals, then I don't mind wearing dresses as much.

Anyway, virtually no one where I work wears dresses or even skirts. Mostly trousers and trainers.

I have one dress, rarely worn. About twenty years old. It’s my weddings/funerals/very smart. I always feel overly fussy and done up in any kind of dress. But I see lots of lovely ones on other people.

Just counted and have 25 Western dresses and some more formal Indian dress (wedding attire).

Mix of casual, summer, work and evening/cocktail. Mostly second hand or old. I do wardrobe refreshes semi regularly so try and sell/donate stuff if I buy something new (usually from a charity shop or Vinted).

I used to feel fussy in a dress. Years ago during a hot summer, a colleague commented that I never wore dresses, and she had a figure similar to mine and looked so comfortable in her dresses, so I ventured out. I probably had about 10, then changed my style massively, so they're in the cupboard and I have about 25 to 30 in my "new" look. The old/original ones come with me on holiday. But OP, I laughed that you went thorugh them all and "only" got rid of one! Definitely been there.

About 10. I don't hoard clothing really. 5 pairs of jeans. Regularly have a cull and now I try to operate a one in, one out policy as my wardrobe space is not infinite.

About a dozen for work and a half dozen summer and party ones. Unless the temperature is 26°c and I'm walking a lot or if it's higher and I'm lazing about then I always wear tights. Legs are quite a big % of our surface area - how do you all not end up cold?

None, I slowly stopped wearing them over the years. I'd like to start wearing them again but I feel out of my comfort zone when I try one on and talk myself out of it.

I have 38 dresses and no jeans. I am wearing my dresses far more since lockdown. I also have 15 pairs of trousers and 11 skirts. If I'm going to cull anything, it'll be the trousers and skirts. I just find dresses so comfortable and versatile.

Can’t have too many dresses I’m a dressy person aswell think I’ve got about 20 but just recently I cleared out my clothes rail and put the ones that either don’t fit me anymore or ones I wear mostly autumn,winter away in a black bag in my cupboard as I’m not throwing them out lol

I have over 100 dresses but less than 10 pair of jeans / trousers because I wear dresses or skirts more than 350 days a year.

No idea but I have vacuum packed a load that I don't wear frequently due to space, but mostly what I wear every day is a dress or leggings and a long top or skirt and top. I have one pair of leggings, a pair of black jeans and some grey jeans. That's it.

I have about 30/40, I think... all kinds but pretty much all from EBay as I find there are dress bundles on there I can't resist!

I'm also an absolute addict to sequin, glittery type dresses and have about 8 of those alone... every night is special if you're in a sparkly dress!

That sounds fine - lovely to have the choice.

Why don't you put half away so that you have the fun of forgetting about them and then remembering them in six months!

I’ve got 9, that includes 4 summer dresses. 5 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of summer trousers, 2 pairs of wool trousers and 2 pairs of cords. 6 skirts.

Probably 60 too if I include my work wear suit dresses. Be warned if you are decluttering. I did it a few years ago and I get physical aches thinking of all the lovely, perfect dresses I gave away that I'm now having to replace with things I like half as much for various events 🙁

I only wear dresses in the summer, so mine are all just for Sumner, I have 2 sequin party dresses, I would love to get some winter ones, but I hate tights so do you keep warm.

I probably have about 20-30 but I would have more if I had the space. Like others, dresses are my ‘go to’ - so easy and more comfortable than separates.

I have about 500 but hoping to downsize to 100 😅
