any tried Laura Mercier foundation?

i have been trying to find my perfect foundation.

i went to the clinique counter and the lady there picked out a foundation for me which looks brilliant on me, i was dead chuffed until day 2 when my face got all itchy and stinging from it! Gutted!

so, i'm thinking Laura Mercier. is it worth the price? whats good/not good about it?

can anyone advise?

i am 32, fair skinned, dryish skinned, blonde hair, few lines...want to look good!

LM has high pigmentation levels.. very good coverage but you need to use a brush to put on as it is thick

cheeryface · 29/03/2008 18:27

o.k cod , what was crap about it?

i haven't ever used brushes for my makeup, just sort of pat it on and then blend in with fingers

It's a powder. I had it once but didn't really like it, but I was using cheapo foundation at the time so it probably didn't suit it.

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 29/03/2008 18:44

what does primer do exactly? is primer the same as serum you use under moisturiser?

Tutter · 29/03/2008 18:47

ooh WTS, what is the very best tinted moisturiser you have come across pretty please

am currently using kiehls and like it a lot

but it is thick -- has to go over (plentiful) regular moisturiser otherwise it looks far too foundation-y for day to day use iykwim

would love the same effect as kiehls but a lighter texture

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 29/03/2008 18:48

ooh if we are having extra-personalised help then what is the best foundation for 27 year old pale combination with a few spot scars and pretty please?

Wats(you are so going to regret letting on you are a make up artist) sometimes I put 8 hour cream on my face. Good or bad?

Not massively but sometimes am and slap it on my cheeks and under my eyes when I know I'm not going out. Is that stila tinted moisturiser better than Laura Mercier then?
Also where do you get your stuff from? Do you go to the counter or order online? I know some sites have discounts but never have dabbled as I'm always worried it'll be old stuff with bits squeezed out!

I've got a tube of elemis moisturising face mask - must remember to use it!
The Laura Mercier stuff actually makes one of my eyes water if I put it too close but I really like how it looks. Wonder if Stila would do the same? Have never been to the Stila counter will go and check it out next time.

have tried the new lancome foundation now, and as i thought it looks too pale. i don't mind being pale but would like to look a nice shade of pale instead of ill pale iyswim!

other than the colour though it's quite good i think. goes on really nicely, has a bit of a glowy finish but not too much

ooh thank you WTS

i shall try stila next time i buy

ArcticRoll · 30/03/2008 14:39

Tutter-I love the tinted moisturiser by Aveda-rate it more than the Laura Mercier one.

Haven't tried the Stila one though so will look oiut for that.
