If I hate wearing a bra, what do you recommend?

I absolutely loathe the feeling of wearing a bra but can't do without one; I don't think my colleagues would appreciate my saggy boobs and nipples showing though my tops.

I can't cope with anything wired. The best bras I've found are those T-shirt seamless ones which stop the nipples showing but without layers of padding, but I still find them uncomfortable. I've tried crop tops and vest tops too but not yet found anything that works sufficiently well as a bra.

Please don't suggest getting properly fitted- been there, done that so it's not a question of sizing, I know the correct size for me (38D)

I just want to be able to put on a bra which feels the least like wearing a bra possible, but which does the job!

a breast lift and reduction. no bra's necessary (had mine done at the age of 62 and really should have had it done decades earlier) for me it was an excellent health investment. all the money i wasted on expensive bra's, such a scam.

@667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast they look great... but once again, nothing in a 32GG/H 😢 Why do designers assume that if you've got a small back you can't have big boobs?

I've looked and looked for a bralette in my size. Cannot find one anywhere 😢

I've bought some of the secret support camisoles from m&s. So comfy!

Bluebella27 · 01/04/2024 18:20

Molke are great, I also hate wearing bras with a passion!

MabelMoo23 · 01/04/2024 18:27

Skims sculpt and shape bralette. I’m a 34F and wear size large. I’m far from being a Kardashian fan but so so comfy!!!

Elebag · 01/04/2024 18:33

Primark racer back sports bras. They have removable pads.
I don't know how, but they are so comfy I can even sleep in them. They usually have some in bright colours too.

I'm probably about a 32-34f at the mo and I wear sweaty Betty yoga tops. I prefer ones that don't cross at the back (neck/shoulder ache). Don't wear anything else. I wore one at a wedding this weekend just gone with a high neck top. I get them 2nd hand, and I wear a medium. (I have a small ribcage but am chubby at the mo.)

Grumblevision · 01/04/2024 21:47
  • I get the neck ache with racer backs too. Has to be straight straps if poss.
Thischarmlessgirl · 01/04/2024 23:44

Boody full cup bra’s are lovely and comfortable, breathable bamboo fabric and no wire etc. I’m a 36F and a Large is fine. I don’t want to rip it off the moment I get home unlike other bras….

pootlin · 02/04/2024 05:10

I often wear the non-wired H&M bras but a lot of shops do them.

I'm a 38DD and wear these everyday. No wires with adjustable straps and back.

I wear m and s crop tops or their vests with built in shelf. Just bought a wireless bra from sainsburys that's is so comfy.

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 02/04/2024 08:19

Bravissimo Fern and Nova, but beware of the fitters putting you into too tight a back size. I've had to add a bra extender to the last set I bought.

dudsville · 02/04/2024 09:19

I'm only a c cup, so I don't know if this would work for you, but I do two things. One is to go without wearing a bra. I wear a vest and then a patterned fabric. I wear a lot of plaid/check/gingham, solid fabrics show my nipples but these don't. The other thing I've embraced but don't love is the "sloggie go all around" bra. I don't love it because its a bra and it's padded, but it's very comfortable and useful at the gym and if I'm wearing a solid top. I got them on sale on amazon.

Balloonhearts · 02/04/2024 09:22

Asda do pullover bras in soft ribbed material which are SO comfy I barely know I'm wearing them.

I gave up underwired bras two years ago (34E). I recommend trying different styles from Brastop, they have lots of wire free options in normal bra sizes for DD+, with proper fastenings etc. I found some styles supportive enough for work ane exercise.

This is my favourite - you can arrange straps as a racer back for support but much softer on than a sports bra

I hate bras too but my bust is really heavy 30GG, nothing short of steel girders will hold mine up. I have dents in my shoulders despite buying the best bras I can find. I dumped my bra during covid and it's been really hard having to put one on again for work.

This is the only one I’ve found that I can keep on even when I get home. Good value at £20 too.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 02/04/2024 11:14

Get a bralette. The ones I've got from M&S (two different types) have been supportive enough for me to wear into work and I'm 30GG.

Actually I think they're non wired. I prefer the first one to the second though.

Do not go for the 3 pack ones, they vary wildly in size which is a shame (the reviews say this too) as the nude one was really nice.

I would t buy from them. They use men to advertise their female underwear.

That looks nice.

Another vote for the M&S Flexfit, I'm a 36G but have sized up to a 40F as pregnant. I've got 3 now and find them very supportive but so comfortable.
