Fragrance free moisturiser with SPF for age 45+, suggestions please.

I'm not sure if such a thing exists but I'm looking for a fragrance free (or very, very mild scent at a push) facial moisturiser that contains SPF20 or higher, and is suitable for skin aged 45 & over (I'm about to turn 45).
I can either find fragrance free but no SPF, or highly fragranced (which irritate my eyes and trigger migraines).

I've recently been using Olay
Total Effects moisturiser and serum duo (very mild scent) which I do like but it's pilling on my skin.

Ideally I want a moisturiser with an SPF included as my skin can't tolerate me adding a separate sun cream, it causes horrendous break outs regardless of what brand I'm using.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I am little bit older than you and have some sun damage from over exposure when younger and find the products from Altruist really good. Developed by a British dermatologist with a particular interest in prevention of sun damage, very affordable (but still a small percentage of profits is donated to a charity) and an effective no-nonsense formula: https://altruistsun.com/shop/

La Roche Posay Anthelios Age Correct is a bit dearer but also a product I rate as both moisturiser and sun protection:

Depending on your budget (mine is limited) I use the Aldi Caviar cream and I love it. It goes along way (a jar is about £7.50 and lasts me about months) and soaks in really well.

I use La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ - pricey but lasts a while. Technically a suncream not a moisturiser, but very light on the skin.

If you're still looking, Cetaphil fits the bill:

This one is excellent.

this felt nice in the shop the other day- more creamy than their old one which I liked

Ultrasun, P20, LaRoche Posay, Clinique and Garnier Ambre Solaire all make suitable products. Sometimes they are not labelled as moisturiser, but have that effect anyway.

Personally, I prefer to separate sunscreen and moisturiser when the sunscreen has to be high factor. I use the sunscreen in the morning and moisturiser in the evening when i cleanse the sunscreen off my face. I am late 50s.

FritataPatate · 01/04/2024 08:36

I use Olay Collagen Peptide, which has a SPF of 30 and is fragrance free. It is absorbed better than the Cerave, imo.

Clairet1976 · 01/04/2024 09:00

I use the hello Sunday spf range.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 01/04/2024 09:27

49 Herr and use garnier SPF50 daily, don't actually bother with moisturiser now. I do put a few drops of vitamin C in from Pai as I use retinal at night.

Make up goes on perfectly after

I use Clinique moisture defence with SPF 40. Very pleased with it though it’s £55 a pot.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 01/04/2024 10:08

I use a moisturising sunscreen instead of a moisturiser with SPF. My current favourite is the LRP sunscreen (the blue anthelios one).

I (personally) prefer it to most moisturiser with SPF and it basically does the same...

I use this too, but have to be careful when applying around my eyes as it stings a bit and makes me tear up.

I know this might drive you mad because you said no suncreams but have you tried le Roche posey spf? I use avenue skin soothing cream for moisturiser and le Roche posey after it and my skin has never been better (from someone who had roseacea and burning sensitive skin all the time before I found this and cetaphil skin wash). If you have tried it I'd recommend cerave too but

Origins had an excellent offer over the weekend for a free full size moisturiser (a couple of choices) with orders over £15 Grin plus the ye usual x 2 samples at checkout and free gift wrapping. Pretty sure there was 20% site wide too so a very good time to buy

020LOLZ · 01/04/2024 11:48

If you go on any online chemist like Bts or Sdrug etc, you can click on the search filters. They’ll have a fragrance free option you can use

PeaceandCakes · 01/04/2024 18:11

The fact is though @Shufflebumnessie that using a moisturiser with spf doesn't really protect your skin according to dermatologists.

You need a teaspoonful of sun block to cover you face which is possibly more than you would use to moisturise.

The amount in a moisturiser is so little it won't work. Waste of time.

I use Ultrasun Face lotion spf 50 (it's about £34 but you can buy it cheaper on Amazon.)

No perfume and very gentle.

My skin doesn’t do well with moisturiser and an additional sunscreen either.

But the moisturising LRP sunscreen (the blue anthelios one) works perfectly well as a moisturiser for me personally. I wonder whether OP has ever tried that?

I personally feel much more comfortable using an actual sunscreens that was formulated to be (at least somewhat) sweat resistant, allows me to apply a sufficient amount etc.
