Need *really* robust cabin luggage ASAP.

I commute to London for half the week and have just had another wheel fall off my small cabin bag. (It’s an Aerolite one.). Had the same happen with the standard size version as well. They’re cheap cases.

So I’m looking to invest in one suitable for heavy duty use. Anyone got any recommendations?

Ideally need one standard cabin size and one easyJet under seat size.

I think the xs is a good size. If you ram it full of heavy stuff, it’s still usually ok to carry using the side handle up and down stairs ie at train station, plane stairs . The s might be a bit heavy for that, but depends how much you have to carry.

Our Eastpak are 12-15 years old and look as new tbh.

Eastpak all the way!

Eastpak is fab; also have a Lipault mini-cabin (45 cm) and it is excellent.

Samsung? As in televisions and phones? Can’t find any luggage made by them

Spellchecker changed Samsonite

DH doesn’t like spinner wheels and has a preference for cabin bag suitcases with wheels on only 2 corners.

OP, are you looking for a 2 wheeler or a 4 wheeler bag. My experience is that on 2 wheeler cases, the wheels are partly covered and protected by the design. On 4 wheelers, the wheels are simply attached to the bottom and seem far more vulnerable.

lf you want a 2 wheeler, take a look at American Tourister which are another brand made by Samsonite.

My Antler has stood up well to use and abuse. But lots of flight crew use Travel Pro, which looks expensive but you clearly get what you pay for in terms of durability.

My DH treated himself to a Tumi suitcase some years back. It was very expensive but having used it extensively it still looks as good as the day he bought it. When something went wrong with it he was able to get the part ordered and they fixed it for nothing. He loves it.

Thanks to those that recommended the Eastpak. First trip
last night and I love it. Taking a bit of getting used to it not having spinner wheels but otherwise it’s great!

I have an Away cabin sized suitcase and I love it, but I think it's probably too big for the budget airlines.

I have Away too and it's so well made

When you watch a spinner “wandering” down a train carriage or airport shuttle by itself, you’ll be pleased you opted not to buy one.

Have been using spinners for 20+ years…….
