Wedding guest dress needed for Scottish wedding. 1950's swing?

Hello, you lovely lot. I'm attending a wedding for Scottish relatives in July and fancy getting myself a tartan 1950's Swing Dress for the day.

I've seen one on Pretty Kitty but I was wondering if any of you had any other good recommendations of sites I should try.

My DH and I got married in Scotland some years ago and our wedding cake topper was him in his uniform and me in a dark green and dark blue tartan dress so thought it would be nice to actually wear it for this. Thanks in advance!

I saw this one the other day but out of stock in my size 😏

Not got skin in the game re to tartan or not to tartan - though some interesting conversations. Anyhoo British retro, this red one would be more summery. Their swing dresses are boned so gives lovely shape.

That dress is lovely! Now I need an excuse to buy it.

“curious” or “interested” on here always equals looking for an online argument. I’ve replied to the the OP. I wouldn’t wear a tartan dress to a Scottish wedding - she’d be as well wearing a see you Jimmy hat to compliment it.

Go and be “curious” elsewhere in the internet if you’re bored.

You’re right. I wasn’t curious. I just thought you were being a bunch of dickheads and wanted confirmation. I’m half Scottish so have been to plenty of weddings with Scottish people who aren’t nobs so I guess you are the outlier.

As a fully signed up Scot and Scottish clan member I couldn't give a toss if you culturally appropriate our national dress.

If you fancy a tartan dress this one is beautiful.

I'm Scottish and I agree with the others that it's usually only the men who wear tartan at weddings as they tend to wear kilts. I have worn a tartan dress to a wedding before though so if you want to go for it.

If you decide not to do tartan, the link above which is to the pretty dress company have loads of other dresses that would suit the 1950s theme.
