I have all the serums etc etc but I just want my poor dry flaky sore face to feel soothed and hydrated in one go. After hundreds of pounds my holy grail has Bern the cheap as chips cetaphil, it's completely transformed my skins texture. But after a month of illness and harsh weather I need to up my game for a while. Suggestions please.

Curél moisturiser is lovely.

spartanrunnergirl · 10/02/2024 17:59

La Roche posay cicaplast baume

NewYearNewCalendar · 10/02/2024 18:01

Nivea. The big white tub. Slather it on morning and night and my skin loves it. Obviously no SPF, so that can go on top.

SpaceChocolatel · 10/02/2024 18:05

Aveeno, the blue one, just body moisturiser. My face has never been so calm and dewy. I do have mega dry sensitive skin. It doesn't have SPF but in The summer I use la Roche posey anthwluos SPF factor 50.

Moier · 10/02/2024 18:27

La Roche for day.
Ceravee for over night.

belvitas · 10/02/2024 18:31

do you wear makeup?
I've found that the foundations I've used have been drying out my skin. So I can wear my usual moisturiser (olay seven signs) and as long as I use boots hydraluminous, my skin is very soft and no dryness

Forestcantrun · 10/02/2024 18:35

I’m a white tub Nivea now but for ages I used Eucerin Face cream as a dermatologist had put me on the urea body cream for years for
my eczema. Pricey but if you’re looking a heavy rich cream , the urea cream is it.

efeslight · 10/02/2024 18:46

Interested in the recommendations, I find most serums I have tried help a little but rich creamy moisturiser can make my skin erupt in spots

FyEnw · 10/02/2024 18:47

Following. I feel like my skin is dry but moisturiser makes it super greasy. Currently using coconut oil which seems to be going well but want to start on tret soon and will need some good moisturiser

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 10/02/2024 18:47

Nivea. The big blue tub.

Bluewallss · 10/02/2024 18:48

Bondi sands spf 50 for the face is very moisturising and cheap

DoThePropeller · 10/02/2024 18:48

I also find a chemical peel does me the world of good at this time of year.

StarTwirl · 10/02/2024 18:49

When my skin feels extra dry I use a facial oil

You can just buy a standard almond oil (obvs not if you have a nut allergy )

I've used loads of different ones so no point me recommending any as they're all the same really

I use a serum then apply oil then later I apply a moisturiser

Ones I've used though are Clarins, nuxe, disciple, Sunday Riley, Emma Hardie

hashisucks · 10/02/2024 18:53

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Gel B5. No SPF though. I love this.

fuckthemail · 10/02/2024 19:21

I think one product won't make a difference, you need a good routine. Mine is basic but has helped my skin which used to be dry and flaky for years

Serum - ANR Estée Lauder
Moisturiser - I use elemis marine cream with spf, or estee day wear with SPF

Twice a week oskia liquid mask before above at night

Also love elemis superfood fruit vinegar few times before above in the mornings

I also give myself a facial once a month. Happy to detail. I think it's all about being consistent and exfoliating as well as adding moisture back in

Viewfrommyhouse · 10/02/2024 19:23

You need something on your skin before you moisturise. Are you using any hydrating toners in your routine? Any essences or hyaluronic acid?

greenacrylicpaint · 10/02/2024 19:26

weleda skin food light.
but it's quite greasy and no spf
but great to use in the evening after washing the face/taking off make up.

DuploTrain · 10/02/2024 19:28

Clinique dramatically different. No SPF though

LondonLovie · 10/02/2024 19:33

Go for something natural. Look at the ingredients and if you struggle to say then, you really don't want to put them on your skin!

I absolutely love this: ofnature.co.uk

But there are many natural options

WhiteCatmas · 11/02/2024 11:53

My son is on accutane and his face has turned very dry.
The only thing that works is Cerave moisturiser.

Saxendi · 11/02/2024 12:06

This one is amazing really moisturising highly recommend

uk.theinkeylist.com/products/bio-active-ceramide-moisturiser

bryceQ · 11/02/2024 20:22

I have dry skin, I use Ilyoon Ceramide cream and either a layer of vaseline or tallow. It makes my skin absolutely glow.

bryceQ · 11/02/2024 20:34

Should have said these are obvs at night I don't wear vaseline during the day I wear factor 50 Spf either altruist or any of the korean brands

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 11/02/2024 20:38

Beauty Pie, Jeju daily moisturiser. Amazing for my menopausal skin.

CoConut22 · 11/02/2024 20:44

My skin has never been in better condition since trying Zoe bees creams. Small business, but I will never use anything else now on my menopausal skin!
