If you've had a facelift, which type did you have and why?

JackOrMeryl · 08/02/2024 14:34

I'm thinking of having a facelift in a couple of years. My menopause has started (still have periods every now and again) so I'm waiting for my periods to stop and then get it done (as advised by a couple of surgeons I have spoken to).

There are so many different types of facelift around (deep plane, lower face & neck, ponytail, etc) so I'm looking for first-hand feedback of what people have had done, why, and whether they are happy with the results. I know it's a very individual decision but I'm looking for a starting point. Thanks!

Very, I thought this forum was about giving one another advice, and sharing information. To help.

Very bizarre behaviour lol.

Well I'm getting a mummy makeover early next year, mini tummy tuck, breast lift, areola reduction (breastfeeding was not kind to my breast lol) and implants.

So if anyone is interested after I have it done next year you're welcome to PM me lol.

That's a weird and unnecessarily aggressive response, maybe the facelift didn't work out very well after all😬
Good luck with your makeover😇

What's a mini tummy tuck?! I've got thing thanks to pregnancy where your stomach muscles separate, c section over hang and a lovely massive hernia, would love to have all sorted in one go!!

A mini tummy tuck is when it's just the front of your stomach, not all the way around.

Yes I have the same as you when it comes to the stomach muscles separating and the c-section scar over hang. I'm having all of that fixed during the operation. It doesn't cost extra, thankfully

I wanted to wait until next year as well so I could stop smoking which I have 🥳 40 days without a cigarette, and get into better shape, tone up and such.

Everything that will help with recovery.

I remember watching one of those makeover plastic surgery shows years and years ago, one women had a hernia and the plastic surgeon said they could remove it during the tummy tuck.

But the NHS should do that for you anyway.

That is sounds amazing I’m considering some procedures and have been looking at Turkey Would you mind sharing the name of the surgeon /clinc ?

I messaged DirrrtyMartini and asked for the place she had it done. And juts got a very rude message back saying it was rude of me to have not posted on mumnet before and to ask her for the place she had her work done, then she told me to do my own research.

Well that was lovely.

Have I missed a rule? Are we supposed to make posts before we ask questions?.

It is good internet etiquette to ask before PMing. But not everyone knows this. And some people are unnecessarily weird about it, I don't think it warranted that harsh response!

Pimlicopolly · 22/08/2024 08:16

Hi Sarahlou122 I asked the same question re her surgery and got the same rude reply I was so shocked that someone could be so unpleasant as I had also thought this was supposed to be a source of support conversation and information for women by women

VelvetChaise · 23/08/2024 20:45

I wonder if she messaged @NorthFaceofthelaundrypile with the name?

Pimlicopolly · 23/08/2024 23:56

I wondered the same thing

JacksonAverysEyes · 24/08/2024 07:30

@damedoom had a thread about her lower facelift. She had amazing results. Her surgeon was Nick Rhodes if I recall correctly.

BellesAndGraces · 24/08/2024 07:40

Why boast about the price of your facelift and then refuse to share the name of the surgeon and troll those who ask? That @DirrrtyMartini is either on the wrong forum or attention seeking.

Pimlicopolly · 24/08/2024 10:54

I totally agree @BellesAndGraces . Very strange behaviour indeed

I think it was attention seeking. I doubt they even had a facelift.

That's why they never respond to anyone on this thread asking for details, and then was rude to anyone the Pm her.

I figured I would PM as the person never responded to multiple messages inquiring about who the surgeon was.

Thanks for letting me know the etiquette though, next time I will ask in the thread first x.

Same, at least it's not personal. She's a B to everyone 😂

Yes, I am with MYA clinic in london and my surgeon is Mr Samouris.

I'm getting super excited to finally have it done. I'm been getting in shape and toning in preparation for the surgery. Pilates and 10miles of speed walking with weights 5 days a week.

I've been avoiding buying clothes until after the surgery, I'm so excited to not have the excess skin bump.

Pimlicopolly · 24/08/2024 20:52

Omg you must be so excited ! Good luck !

Pimlicopolly · 24/08/2024 20:52

Yep a thoroughly unpleasant person 🧍‍♂️

SlayB · 27/09/2024 14:12

DirrrtyMartini · 09/02/2024 22:44

I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift last November. It's so subtle and perfect, scars hidden and incredibly natural. I had a brilliant surgeon in London, not cheap at 15k. Best thing I've ever done.

Is @DirrtyMartini still online ?

SlayB · 27/09/2024 14:20

I just broke mumsnet rules read the thread!
Seems she was a bad one!

Anyone had a more recent facelift wants to share information that would be wonderful.

I don’t trust online reviews … half seem made up. So I want real people…

Ljj345 · 20/11/2024 20:04

Hi there,
