Heattech, though maybe less necessary as we're into February?
Merino jumpers. Also cardigans but I think the jumpers are better.
Cotton t shirts. So many tshirts elsewhere are cotton and modal which I don't think wear as well as pure cotton. The Uniglo ones wash well.
The down jackets are great. They are thin so not ideal for really cold weather, but great for packing.
I also like the lambswool jumpers but they are not what you might call stylish!
Their belts are good too.

I don't get on well with their trousers, they just don't seem to fit me, but everything else I've bought has been great.

champagneplanet · 01/02/2024 12:45

The long sleeve round neck heat tech tops are a god send for me, i'm a cold person so wear them Autumn through to Spring! Great for layering and they wash well.

Yoyoyo1 · 01/02/2024 12:51

Great, thank you. How about sizing - I put my stats in and it said XXL!

Traumdeuter · 01/02/2024 13:01

Everything. I love their UT cotton t shirts which can be dressed up or down (I wear them for work, tucked into a midi or pencil skirt, with a cardigan on top), merino knits, socks, down jackets and their wool coats.

I get a lot of DS’s joggers and tops from there too - but more expensive than supermarket or H&M but the quality is way better.

LentilFaculties · 01/02/2024 13:03

I love their pants, socks, hats and roll neck knitwear! Really good quality for the price. Their t-shirts last forever but harder to predict the fit. Ditto trousers. The online sizing thing often over estimates what size I need. The structured tops don't work with large chests.

I am only buying from store because of this, and the fact that there has been instances of returns being stolen in the warehouse.

Pigtailsandall · 01/02/2024 13:12

I like the kids clothes (if you have kids) and I love the cords I got there. The merino stuff is great, particularly the ribbed turtleneck are my fave. Socks are good too, but with underwear I found that the elastic goes quick.

T-shirts, like someone said, are heavy and good quality.

Personally I don't find that there's anything special about their "heat" tech stuff. It seems just a marketing gimmick. A fitted long-sleeve top of any sort that goes under your clothes does the same trick

Their sizing tool doesn't work. I am a size 10 and usually take a small in Uniqlo and the tool said I should take XL if I want it to fit a little tight🤔

lovehatesummer · 01/02/2024 13:35

I love Uniqlo but agree it's best if you can try on in store as sizing can vary wildly between ranges. Also they charge for online returns...

In addition to everything mentioned above, I really like their high rise ultra stretch trousers/leggings. Super comfortable if you're (still) into your skinnies.

Also their heat tech joggers have been a lifesaver in the past month. Truly warmer than "normal" joggers. I have a lot of their heat tech tops as well as use for layering in winter.

Generally I think they're great for basics that last, you're not going to get many trendy pieces there so it does depend on your style.

Princessfluffy · 01/02/2024 13:49

I'd say you're probably a size L
The down jackets are great and also the best selling half moon bags.
The colours are usually quite neutral and drab which is a shame. I'd buy a lot more from them if they had some nice bright colours.

Turkeyhen · 01/02/2024 13:54

The cotton T shirts are amazing quality for the price.
The merino jumpers are good value (but I find they fit very small).
Ultralight down.
Viscose shirts.
Linen shirts.
Flannel shirts.
The half moon bags.
Fleeces - last forever.
Kids' clothes - great quality.
The trousers vary wildly in sizing and although they have started offering some in a longer length, their regular ones are too short for me (vs M&S Regular being fine).

Agree with the pp that heattech is meh. I prefer M&S heatgen.

WhereAreWeNow · 01/02/2024 13:58

Heat tech (the extra warm cotton scoop necks are especially nice)
Cotton midi knickers
Wide leg pleated trousers
Merino jumpers
Merino dresses
Breton stripe top (v heavyweight cotton)

I bloody love Uniqlo.

WhereAreWeNow · 01/02/2024 13:59

Agree with needing longer length trousers but they're only available online

Sususudio · 01/02/2024 13:59

Ultralight down jackets and merino wool. And heat tech for next year.

TheSandHurtsMyFeelings · 01/02/2024 15:29

The corduroy half-moon bags are now down to £9.90...just bought 2!

I'm a UK 12-14 (DD chest) and I wear a L in the tops and they're great as a base layer under a top or jumper. I ordered two sizes and the M was a bit snug.

Sususudio · 01/02/2024 16:16

Their sizing is all over the place. I am a 12 and I sometimes wear L, sometimes M, sometimes S!

Charlieradioalphapapa · 01/02/2024 16:33

Agree about sizing as it depends on the fit. Some things are relaxed, oversized or fitted. I’ve got XS in a coat, M in some heat tech tops and some joggers and L in some PJs. I’ve lost a bit of weight. When I was 12-14 I found L in tops were most likely to fit. I don’t live near a branch so I order online and pay with Klarna so I only pay for what I keep. I order lots and it’s £2.75 to return and free delivery when you have a bigger order.
i like their sweatshirts, fleece roll necks, brushed cotton pj trousers, down jackets and heat tech tee shirts.

RampantIvy · 01/02/2024 16:35

I wish they had more shops. I need to plan a trip to Manchester soon.

LadyBird1973 · 01/02/2024 17:19

I thought a couple of high neck jumper dresses. Size down because they are big!
Really lovely and soft and not at all itchy.

Charlieradioalphapapa · 01/02/2024 18:45

Rampantivy Manchester is my nearest store too. But as there’s no other place there I’m wanting to go to, it’s far cheaper to buy online and sent back the things that don’t fit or look right. I’ve been lucky so far as haven’t returned much. I wish we had a store nearer as I’d love to browse around and try on.

RampantIvy · 01/02/2024 21:27

I've heard a lot of negative things about Uniqlo returns, which is why I prefer to buy in a shop rather than buy online. I visited the store on Oxford Street last summer, but only bought a T-shirt.

Charlieradioalphapapa · 01/02/2024 21:40

I can understand why you’d want to go to a store . Luckily I’ve had no problems with returns so far.

lemonbiscuit · 01/02/2024 21:55

I like the rayon shirts for work - comfy, smart and wash well. The bloctech waterproof long coats are great too-lightweight and packable but look smart too.

Came to say this. Now have black, a green corduroy and am pondering purple for spring.

The amount you can fit in is astonishing!

Yes those rayon shirts are brilliant, and agree about blocktech - great with ultra light down under in cold weather and on their own in warmer weather and they don’t get crumpled.
