Period pants, any good if you have heavy periods?

If so can you recommend a brand please? There's so many different types out there and they're quite expensive so I don't want to invest if they're no good.

asked my friends but none uses them. Also ttc at the moment, anyone used them after having a baby?

I use ModiBodi heavy/overnight ones and they are brilliant.

Thank you, are they true to size?

WUKA are great, especially overnight. I have really heavy periods after having DCs and they work so well. Last for ages too.

happinessischocolate · 13/01/2024 20:42

Primark ones are brilliant

mouseychick · 13/01/2024 20:44

M&s

Garman · 13/01/2024 20:45

Yes I use Penneys/Primark ones and find them excellent.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 13/01/2024 20:45

I’ve tried every brand and they have all leaked unfortunately. I have stopped using them. I suppose everyone is different but mine are particularly heavy especially overnight.

Yes. I've got the "full brief" style in my usual size and they are so comfy.

Namerequired · 13/01/2024 20:48

I find the M&S heavy ones decent. Tbh on my heaviest days/nights I put a pad in and then maybe when I’m up through the night take it out. But mostly I just wear them and I have never leaked. Been wearing them over a year now I think as my periods have been all over the place and pads irritate my skin after a few days.

KevinMcAllistereatsyellowsnow · 13/01/2024 20:50

I have a couple of Modibodi heavy for my heavier overnights. I use Floweret (now called Flowette I think?) for light days, or with a mooncup. They are less bulky than the Modibodi, which I find can bunch up sometimes.

Thank you so much for all the replies!
how much are the primark ones? Might try those first if they're a bit more reasonably priced.

Modibodi are great, they're the only ones I use now.

OhpoorMe · 13/01/2024 20:55

I have the cheeky wipes no vpl full briefs and they are honestly my favourite pair of pants! So comfy

bobby81 · 13/01/2024 21:00

Another vote for M&S. I don't have periods anymore but when I did I was very heavy & would use tampon, pad & period pants all at once!

Namerequired · 13/01/2024 21:02

I was planning on buying some more M&S but decided to try wuka from this thread. They are pricey! But 3 for 2 atm so works out better to buy them in singles. £44 for 3 pairs of the super heavy with free delivery.

Tidypidy · 13/01/2024 21:02

I love Cheeky pants, often have lots of offers too.

OhWifey · 13/01/2024 21:05

Not in my experience. I use a moon cup with them. They are great for backup for the moon cup at the start (I have to change mooncup at least hourly), and for day 4/5 onwards on their own

OhWifey · 13/01/2024 21:07

Should add I have Uniqlo, M and S and Modibodi and would rate them in that order

catsnore · 13/01/2024 21:11

M and S are the best ones I've tried so far. On a really heavy day I will go through a lot of pairs and sometimes resort to pads as well if I'm out and about. I find them very good overnight and on medium/lighter days.

I think they're about £9 for 3 pairs

BugsyDrakeTableScape · 13/01/2024 21:40

Another vote for WUKA - no issues whatsoever and they wash well/don't lose shape or elasticity

DumpedByText · 13/01/2024 21:44

My DD (16) has tried Wuka, Modibodi and Hey Girls.

She has very heavy periods and swears by the Modibodi heavy/overnight shorts and the Hey Girls big knickers. They don't leak at all and she doesn't use pads/tampons.

Wuka are only good for the end in her opinion.

She has around 20 pairs now and these do her for the full week she's on.

Hey Girls are the more expensive but so soft and comfortable. I got a deal on a multipack of Modibodi so wasn't too expensive.

NotInvisible · 13/01/2024 21:45

I use Primark ones which are great, but the only problem for me is they don't come up high enough at the front where the 'pad' is.

Same. They don’t absorb well either, the top layer stays wet. I have Flux, modibodi & wuka. I even tried a 24 hour one. My periods are too heavy for reusable pants. Plus I waste soooo much time and water rinsing them.
