.. without warm water.

Like at a festival.

My mind is drifting forward to summer days and I’m wonder if there an alternative to pulling it off with your fingers 😁

Er, what is tubing mascara?!

CaraMiaMonCher · 12/01/2024 23:18

Oil based make up wipes. Johnson’s do some in a pink packet.

Er, what is tubing mascara?!

Coats your lashes in little tubes. Good for those of us with oily skin which can cause panda eyes with normal mascara. Usually removed with hot water and a cloth, which loosens the tubes and pulls them off.

I’d never heard of tubing mascara until now but I’m interested. Is it better than regular mascara? My lashes are getting sparse, will it help?

Can anyone recommend a sensibly priced good one to try?

Soak some cotton pads (reusable or not, your choice) in micellar water or other makeup remover liquid, store in plastic ziplock bag. No faffing with bringing liquid, easy to squidge into a pocket or bag. Boom!

ruthieness · 13/01/2024 06:08

Maybe take a flask of hot water?

There are a tragic lack of taps..

What festival are you going to? I’ve been going festivals for 20 years, there’s taps & toilets in every single camping field to fill up water carriers or wash at.

Only works if you are fair and have thick lashes. If you already have dark lashes dying doesn't do anything. And if you you have thin lashes you need mascara to beef them up

I have black lashes and LVL worked for me - not as dramatic as mascara but made me look more wide awake and put together for a holiday where I couldn’t be bothered to wear mascara every day.

I use weak black tea/green tea/herbal teas for things like this all the time. The water is clean. The tea if anything is good for your skin!!!

Tubing mascara requires warm water not just wet pads. The water needs to be quite warm too. Not just a bit tepid.

OneMoreTime23 · 13/01/2024 11:08

Yes I’ve used tubing mascara for over 20 years and never been able to get it off with anything but hot water and a gentle rub.

Which one do you use?

ElizabethVonArnim · 13/01/2024 23:05

You could stand a bit too close to a campfire to melt it (mine melted when I opened the oven the other day) then wipe it off.

HollyKnight · 13/01/2024 23:39

Don't take it off. Just top it up the next day. Or wear falsies.

Schoolrunmumbun · 14/01/2024 00:07

Just sleep in it, see what state your face is in the next morning and deal with it then or just top it up and open a can of cider. It's a festival!
