Help me choose which colour Mulberry handbag!

I'm treating myself and I'm unsure which colour to go for in the Mulberry Zipper Bayswater.

I was between Black (classic!), tan (more versatile?) or oxblood (lovely, but is it all year round colour).

Second opinions very welcome! 🙂🙂

I’d go for oak. I have the Bayswater tote and Amberley satchel in oak and I use both loads - far more than the 2 black ones I have. It’s a more versatile colour, imo.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 07/01/2024 10:33

tan or oxblood.

NonPlayerCharacter · 07/01/2024 10:35

I like oxblood best, but tan will go with more things than either that or black.

martinirossi · 07/01/2024 10:38

I'm not seeing a Tan option on the link you posted, is it the Chalk shade? I usually like Tan but for some reason I really don't like the Chalk! My favourite by far is the Oak as it's an all-year rounder but if that's not an option I think Oxblood is nice, it's not as blood red as a lot of Oxbloods can be but more brown-based which is nice.

MillarMountVandal · 07/01/2024 11:24

Mulberry oak is a gorgeous tone, the oak is the best looking of all their shades. That said, I generally opt for black now, I find I don't get bored as easily with black.

I have that zipped bayswater, its a gorgeous bag, and very practical because it zips. I was slightly disappointed with it because the hardware is more of an antique gold - its not mirror shiny (which I prefer).
My favourite mulberry, and the one I'm using just now, is the double zipped bayswater (though you'd only get one of those pre-loved for now, they're not making the double zipped at the moment).

Bear in mind the lighter colours, including oak, will suffer handle darkening with normal usage. Which looks dirty to me.

StartedWithACrisp · 07/01/2024 11:29

Oxblood is beautiful, I use mine all year round and it goes with different coats and outfits. And even if it didn't go, it is iconic mulberry colour. It is a neutral without being a neutral. A black or tan bag can come from any brand.

Teddleshon · 07/01/2024 11:31

Tan or possibly Oxblood. My black handbags are the ones I use the least.

Not the point of this thread I know, but clicked on your post out of curiosity and have to say, all these bags look so dull and boring. Genuinely can't understand why anyone would want to spend £600-£2,000 on a bag, let alone a drab bag like that.

Which is your opinion @FallingStar21 but clearly other people feel differently and it's not your money. You are free to spend your money on anything you like without people giving you their opinion on its value

MaidOfSteel · 07/01/2024 12:34

My Mulberry Tessie tote is oxblood and I find the colour quite versatile. I do like the tan, too. Both a bit less formal than black. I'd probably choose whichever one wouldn't show any marks as much!

The fact that it's beyond your comprehension really isn't important.

Cyclingmummy1 · 07/01/2024 13:10

Oak for every day and an oxblood clutch for evening. It's Mulberry, it goes with everything.

Teddleshon · 07/01/2024 13:20

If you’re going to spend a lot on a bag it’s always wise to choose one that you will get a lot of wear out of and goes with everything rather than one that dates quickly !

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 07/01/2024 14:53

Oak goes with everything

Vitriolinsanity · 07/01/2024 15:12

Weirdly, Oxblood seems to go with everything I own. Summer with jeans/white T etc...

bendmeoverbackwards · 07/01/2024 15:38

Ahhh @DramaAlpaca glad you love the brand, 5 is a lovely collection ❤️

Doggymummar · 07/01/2024 18:31

Coral without a doubt. The others are meh

rayro2 · 07/01/2024 19:15

Tan!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/01/2024 20:27

I'm going for Oak and after having a nosey , the Double Zip Bayswater would be my choice ( though it'd be a pre-loved ) and I don't do handbags Grin

Katbum · 07/01/2024 21:25

I'd go for the tan or oxblood, as I find black bags a bit too formal... but depends on what your style is and what you'll be using it for?

GreatGateauxsby · 07/01/2024 21:29

I’d go for oxblood

I got the amberley in ox blood and am pleasantly surprised by how much use I get out of it

Watchthedoormat · 07/01/2024 21:33

Oxblood
Very classy.

KitchenSinkLlama · 07/01/2024 21:43

I know it wasn't on your list but the orange is beautiful. I really don't like dark and traditional colours. They are boring. Colour all the way for me.

aibutohavethisusername · 07/01/2024 22:37

Oxblood
