I've actually been expecting the pendulum to swing back for a while now. Boxfresh has been in a long time. Didn't see this specific product coming, mind. I wish I'd had the foresight to set up a shoe muddying business in advance!

I had these same shoes come up as an ad for me too and I couldn't believe they were real!

Damn! I wished I'd kept those trainers my incontinent cat crapped in - what a fool - I could have had them up on ebay for at least a ton.

Heck, for a small fee £20 I could wear new clean trainers 👟 for people on a dog walk and save them some 💰 money.

I can get them really grubby in this wet weather!

To be fair I am more likely to wear them than some of the £180 hobbs et al mum boots you see posted all the time.

I came on to say I love the jeans then realised the stickers are intentional...for that price, surely they think we are idiots!

Like I'm going to pay over £1k to have kind strangers stopping me all day to point out I'd left the sticker on my jeans!

They're far less ridiculous than these jeans. At least they are still fit for purpose as shoes. I don't like them but I don't like box fresh gleaming white trainers either. If I were forced to wear trainers and the choices were only a ginormous pair of gleaming white "box fresh" or these I'd take these.

Another one who was gonna mention golden goose. Some golden goose is amazing but some is bloody hideous. I would love some golden goose but way out my price range.

I don't like trainers but I like these- not £485 enough of liking. I like the deliberate, toned down scruffiness of these. I've got summer dresses I would wear these with. I wouldn't pay £485 but £85? Would consider it.

I’ve noticed the late teens/early 20s girls in the US have been wearing deliberately dirty trainers this year. As in, clearly brand new with little wear but they’ve purposefully rubbed dirt into them or stained them with tea or whatever. It seems to take about 12 months for trends to make their way over here so keep an eye out for teenagers stealthily massaging mud into their new trainers in the garden. 😂

I’d be looking for second hand. My 15 yo wants to buy some well worn dirtied up Nike AF1 from vinted for about £20. I’ve said no thus far.

I have seen a few companies now doing trainers that look like they lost a game of Jumanji.

It's not a look I can get behind, I can buy cheap ones and make them look like that very quickly if I wanted.
