A leave-in conditioner that will change my life?

Can anyone recommend one?

I have fine hair, and lots of it. Chin length. Naturally grey. It looks good after a blow dry but out of sorts on day two (a non-wash day). It tends towards frizzy and dry and wavy (not a good wavy).

Can anyone recommend something to help? I love the idea of something I can whack on in the evenings (or after a shower on a non-wash day). I much prefer a floral / soapy scent to citrus-type ones.

I'd pay up to £30 for a bottle or tube of something that will help.

Thanks in advance!

Does it smell strongly of cherries? Hoping not!

MorningFresh · 27/12/2023 13:03

Schwartkopf Gliss is good, the spray one.

I’ve found this helps a lot, I have the same sort of hair, shoulder length bob.

i can’t smell it on my hair once it’s on and it doesn’t smell like a super synthetic fruity horror to me, but I don’t know if you might find it a bit over the top!

You can buy this at Superdrug too.

And Waitrose, I love the Cantu products but they are heavy, more for thick hair I would say.

Milkshake incredible milk is great or Ouai leave in conditioner, fan and smells lush but more spendy

Strawberryshortcake90 · 27/12/2023 23:16

Another vote for milk_shake incredible milk or color wow dream cocktail - the kale one

Daft question of a non-user of leave-ins but do they make your hair feel lank? Mine is coloured, fine but lots of it so looks thick. Just wondering if it would be good for me too (50/50 grey when not coloured)

Go longer between wash days. Try some curly hair shampoo conditioner and the leave in/freshen up serums.

I have frizzy crap looking wavy hair and the curly products make the wave much nicer. Washing too much strips the moisture and made it frizzier. Actually makes it get greasy faster too if you wash too often. I used to b horrified at the thought of not washing my hair daily/every other day but regularly go 4-5 days between now and it doesn't get greasy at all (only with sweaty exercise and then I would shower and wash my hair)

The brand 'Soaps for little Suds' make something called bar in a bottle hair conditioner. It's brilliant and packed with shea butter which is the first ingredient and bo silicones.
It's a very informed family business.

I wondered this too

VanillaSox · 28/12/2023 08:12

Watching with interest as have the same problem. The only think I have found do far that works is Elvive Miracle oil conditioner-it is not a leave-in, but I do leave it in and it definitely improves the appearance.

Summerhillsquare · 28/12/2023 08:42

Banana butter, cheap stuff, Charles Worthington I think. Makes my wavy hair voluminous and soft, no grease. Admittedly my hair is permed but I tried more expensive stuff for waves and none were as good.

For me I’ve had to use a leave in conditioner (and have tried a few) for years since my I was 30, wavy hair and highlighted so it needed it. Sometimes the wrong leave in conditioner (I’ve also got fine but lots of it hair) does weigh it down and make it lank.

The one thing I would say is use a clarifying shampoo every so often to clear the hair of styling residue. Also a mask once a week or twice helps with conditioning hair I find.

I swear by this, having tried all sorts for many years.

I slap loads on during hot summer months and leave it to dry naturally. I use a 10p piece size during colder days when I want to blow dry my hair. Use it as a wash out conditioner, Amado or a leave in conditioner.

Not leave in, but the condition of my hair is beautiful with these natural shampoos and conditioners.

In my mind, they clean my hair without stripping it if natural oils which work to address my frizz. I only need to wash about every 5 - 6 days. These products also don't coat hair in any nasties.

They have a full range of hair care. I use either the frequent use or smoothing range. There is also a balm that my hairdresser uses to finish my hair - but I don't bother with that.

This is not a leave in though

I love the garnier ultimate blends oil, it's gorgeous, leaves my hair so soft. Cheap enough to give it a try without splashing out too
