Moisturiser recommendation

43, skin has changed over the past 12/18 months and become a lot drier.
I need a good, rich moisturising cream that will get rid of the tightness on my face.
I've tried lots of different creams over the past few months and once they dry, I feel an uncomfortable tightness in my skin.
I've tried M&S Apothcary, L'Oreal with Hyularonic Acid, Garnier even Lacura Caviar but all give the same result. Now got loads of half used tubs in the bathroom.
As a last ditch I've been using Superdrug's version of E45 for very dry skin but my skin still feels tight! Aargh!

I Don't drink or smoke, drink plenty of water and eat a good varied diet.

Any recommendations?

I like Vichy Mineral 89 moisturiser. More expensive than I've used previously but its often on offer.

Dior Dreamskin - my favourite!

I agree with a lot of these posts. Layering is a good trick. I dont think even a super rich cream would do the job on its own. At night I either use tretonoin or I use Curel moisturing spray then a serum (eg peptide one ). Then a cream. Curel or La Roche Posay Dermallego cream (not fluid) or just any unscented cream. With cleansers I really rate Dove soap! I use it at night religiously, even after Ive used Clinique take the day off. Not something I ever thought but it really works to stop a dry face and is so cheap. In the morning I just rinse my face which is a tip I saw on Youtube from Salma Hayek..she said her mum says you produce all the perfect oils for your face at night and it's a shame to scrub them off in the morning. And her skin is a-mazing!!

Are you using a serum? You need hyaluronic acid - inkey list in boots or the ordinary both are great, very cheap. Very gentle and very moisturizing.

Definitely ditch the soap! You need an oil/ balm based cleanser - again try the ordinary squalane or the inkey list oat cleanser. You smoother it on, rub in in and rub off with a flannel.

Both of the above have transformed my dry, irritated skin.

My go to for moisturiser in winter is the ordinary's moisturizing factors ( it's v good value). I mix in one or two drops of squalane oil or rose hip oil. It's fab.

I wonder what’s wrong with me. I’ve tried a number of cerave and the ordinary products and didn’t particularly like any of them.

I really live the m&so formula sleep cream. I've tried loads and I keep coming back to it. Really rich and creamy without being sticky.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume 5+ is amazing. Non irritating, very calming and not too expensive.
