Best jeans. Do they exist?

I’m in my forties and still haven’t found ‘the ones!’
Surely they are out there somewhere?

5.7” Pear shape.

I just want a good pair of bloody jeans! Ideally dark blue, would like to turn them up & wear with boots (converse in the summer). Not skinny but not mum jeans either (they do nothing fit my mid-riff). Would like them to come up to my actual waist & not low slung (no one needs to see that!) Get better with age.

Point me in the right direction if you’ve found the perfect jeans! Thank you

I have several pairs of Noisy May jeans. I go for the high waist skinny jeans, but they have lots of different styles. I find them really comfy and they keep their shape. They wash well.

Matalan Jolie relaxed skinny jeans. Roomy, stretchy, waist is perfect for me - not too high which I find really uncomfy.

I loved Matalan Jolie, until I tried M&S Harper, which are similar but IMO better. Worth giving them a try, if that's the style you like.

I buy all my jeans from Pepe London. They have loads of different styles and often have sales.

I’ve tried loads of M&S jeans but I always find their just a little bit too high to be comfortable on me.

I almost exclusively buy Arket jeans now, mostly straight ones.

bobbles4091 · 23/12/2023 18:32

I've weirdly found Zara to be my favourite for jeans. They always come up to a nice place on me and have a bit of stretch in them so I don't feel too hemmed in. I love Zara clothes but find the sizing very hit and miss however the jeans so far seem to be a fairly true to size IMO. Worth a go!

M&S Sienna. I have about eight pairs and absolutely live in them.

tokesqueen · 23/12/2023 18:42

Yes to M&S Sienna.

MadeOfAllWork · 23/12/2023 18:51

Another M&S Sienna fan here.

Showmethemoneyyy · 23/12/2023 18:59

New Look Tori are great!

misstiggywinkle21 · 23/12/2023 19:08

Levi 312 straight legs. Have spent 40 years looking for the perfect jeans for me; these are them. Multiple washes, the dark indigo are fabulous.

Turquoise123 · 23/12/2023 19:11

I hear you ! I booked a personal shopping appointment with John Lewis specifically to look at Jeans. Transformational. I was a bit worried that they would only show me the v expensive stuff but not the case at all- they curated a huge range and we spent an hour trying them , getting other sizes etc. Totally recommend this.

I'm the same. M&S are good about different leg lengths too. The Siennas are so comfortable.

CoatOfArms · 23/12/2023 19:37

m&s magic jeans are fab.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/12/2023 19:49

Perfect jeans are different for everyone.

A year or two ago I found mine in Weird Fish. The reviews were terrible, but they are perfect for me.

LadyLapsang · 23/12/2023 19:56

I have all the brands @Chaza2k17 mentions upthread apart from Armani, just haven’t tried them. WFH / hybrid working has gone hand in hand with spending more on good jeans. Such good VFM.

I wear Nudey jeans, the Lofty Lo cut. Perfect for my pear shape. They are so comfy, and they will repair them if they start to wear. Been wearing them
constantly and no signs of wear yet. Would highly recommend.

IdealisticCynic · 23/12/2023 21:25

I love Rag and Bone jeans.

maldivemoment · 23/12/2023 21:30

@Wednesdaywednesday they look great but sadly I don’t think I can justify upwards of £150 on a pair of jeans. 😬

I live in jeans and have so many pairs. Levi's are probably my favourite but I recently bought a pair from River Island for around the £45 price range and they are really great. Proper stiff denim that doesn't stretch.

I’m 42 and live in jeans I’ve had for years, when they fell apart I started the search for new. I’ve discovered next lift slim and shape jeans- high waisted lovely quality in a variety of colours/denim. I’ve ended up with secc Bernal pairs, I got all mine from Vinted.

Came here to say the same! Tried a pair on in next and have since bought various colours from vinted. Comfy waist and good shape leg.

canyon2000 · 23/12/2023 22:04

Levis are my favourite. I don't get the love for M&S jeans tbh. I tried them but they just look a bit sad and not very stylish.

TheGlitterFairy · 23/12/2023 22:12

Levis are great for me too - skinny and super skinny though lots of other styles. I have long legs so prefer to cater to a “proper” waist and leg size than ladies fashion size as they’re never long enough when i do that!

ichifanny · 23/12/2023 22:37

Levi’s ribcage are great , baggy but not shapeless and button fly and really high waist they make your bottom look great .
