These are a pretty basic shape and style so if it's the cost that's worrying you, there will be very similar out there. This style, shape and colour will go with so many outfits so could be worn with plenty. I rarely go out with just my husband but I love getting dolled up. I have kids, we've been married for 13 years but only Covid stopped the chances to get dressed up (although even then we'd get all dolled up for Zoom parties). Do you get dressed up on Christmas day? I do! I know some people do PJs on Christmas day but we've always worn party clothes.
Do you meet friends for a couple of drinks? No? Why not?! Be the one to suggest it! I can't afford meals out so we just go to a pub we can get to by train. You can have responsibilities and fun. Bring some sparkly social joy to life.
This past year most of my friends have been turning 40 so we've had a week away, parties, weekends in a country house or staying with friends and at every single thing we've had a moment to get dressed up. Staying in an Air BnB nowhere near bars? Have a dinner night where everyone gets dressed up for the meal. I am never knowingly underdressed.
What about weddings? Oh my days - we've had so many weddings and hen dos! I hardly wear heels other than those - prefer to wear gold cowboy boots or my doc martens but you can defo find times and places to wear nice things.
