Best foundation for coverage of Rosacea

I have rosacea on my nose and cheeks and have never found a liquid foundation that gives good coverage.

I have quite pale Celtic skin on the rest of my face which makes it a bit tricky as the contrast is quite extreme.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an excellent liquid foundation that has good coverage. Maybe one that works well on covering scars of tattoos?

I have a decent green ‘undercoat’ and find the Clinique yellow powder is quite effective but would love a good liquid foundation either to use with these products or (by some miracle) on its own.

I don’t mind spending a lot but ideally I would like a brand that is sub £25 if possible as I have spent a fortune on numerous foundations, serums etc to cover or reduce this and I have so many expensive mistakes.

Brands that haven’t worked include Trinny, Estée Lauder, Il Makiage and Clinique.

Also I appreciate people may have advice about treating rosacea but would be grateful if we can stick to foundation recommendations, I have had this condition for years and nothing cosmetic or medical has worked and people’s tips, however well intentioned, just get me down these days as trust me I will have already tried it. I fully accept I am stuck with it and just want to feel confident in covering it up without bankrupting myself!

Thanks in advance!

The absolute best coverage I have found (and I have tried a lot) is Makeup Forever full cover concealer. You literally need the tiniest bit and is not heavy at all but has amazing cover, I have a few tubes in different shades and I just blend according to the season and how light or tan I am .

Hi @NellyWest I just use the cheap triangle sponges you buy a big pack of in Superdrug, they do the trick for me. I have tried brushes and expensive sponges but they don’t seem to add anything special imo.

When I was younger foundation would look very odd, dry and cakey on me but now it doesn’t - I am early forties now, could it be your skin is a lot younger and therefore any product has that heavy look?

I've been using IT cosmetics for a good few years. I have similar Celtic skin and find their shades great.. it's a cc so doesn't feel particularly heavy on your skin. Doesn't aggravate my rosacea.. it's the best I've tried. I'm not a fan of any of the green creams incl rosalique they've never suited me.

I use Bobbi Brown skin long-wear weightless foundation- I have a reddish face but very pale neck and it evens it out beautifully

NARS tinted moisturizer has worked well for me, alongside a long course of antibiotics. Actually provides good coverage and doesn’t sink into lines around the eyes so produced a natural finish. Lots of shades and the online colour finder is pretty good.
