No spoilers before 7AM please.

Happy opening everyone!

My brows are pretty unruly so certainly benefit from brow gels - will defo use once I’ve finished my current one which was also from a calendar i think. I don’t remember ever buying brow gels but always have them

Like the candle - nice full size and smells lovely!

Have changed my mind on the perfume, it’s dried down very nicely to a warm cosy type sweet scent so will wear it every now and again

HollyGolightly4 · 17/12/2023 22:44

How's everyone feeling about the last few days?

I'm mostly lurking on the Waifs and Strays threads and the Liberty AC thread. Feeling a bit lacklustre with Vogue's offerings the last few days. The 4 samples from yesterday are just too small to see any real effect. The cardholder will live in a drawer. I don't keep cards and have everything in my iPhone wallet so....

Don't get me wrong, they're all lovely things. However given the much higher price of this calendar I thought there would be more wow factor, more often.

HollyGolightly4 · 18/12/2023 07:45

I must admit I was disappointed to open up the four samples and see 'not for sale' written on them.

However, today's socks make me very happy!!

Love the socks!!

ACAC2023 · 18/12/2023 08:00

Me too. I’ve been waiting for these 🙂. I’m happy so far but haven’t actually used anything yet. I also liked yesterday’s & it is something I’d use.

WeAreBorg · 18/12/2023 08:23

Love the cosy socks, wondering why they must be bed socks and not normal socks though. Is that because they’ll fall down?

The card holder is nice but maybe a bit masculine in black. It was beautifully packaged so may gift it to a lucky gent

ACAC2023 · 18/12/2023 08:27

@WeAreBorg I’m sure you could wear them in the day too, I think they are thicker than normal socks though. My only concern is they may be tricky to wash as they would probably shrink on a normal 40 degree was, so I’ll need to be careful they don’t slip in with the rest of the washing 😂

Helenloveschat · 18/12/2023 08:44

Lurker enjoying your wonderful opening experiences here! Just wanted to say though @WeAreBorg the socks are truly gorgeous but the soles wear through really quickly if you walk around in the house too much in them (voice of sad experience here!). They are perfect for snuggling up on the sofa in the evening and minimal padding about in though -or indeed in bed of course! I'm jealous as I do love these socks and have actually asked for a pair this year.

WeAreBorg · 18/12/2023 15:13

Thanks @Helenloveschat and @ACAC2023
Wearing through makes sense. I’ll keep them for sofa snuggles and post Christmas lethargy!

chloedancer88 · 18/12/2023 21:53

I've been lurking on here to see what people were thinking but I honestly have to say I've absolutely loved this calendar. Last year I had the cult beauty and flannels calendars and they were so samey and I ended up with several moisturisers and cleansers, lots of makeup that didn't suit me and things that I just wouldn't use. This calendar is so refreshing and everyday I'm genuinely surprised by what I'm getting! The socks today were my favourite and I've worn them under my Dr Marten boots and they were so cosy. The perfume is beautiful, I've worn it every day since I opened it and I haven't taken the necklace off. I've worn it in the shower and bath and it hasn't tarnished at all. I can't wait to see what the next week has in store and I'll be so sad not to keep opening these little drawers every morning!

ACAC2023 · 19/12/2023 08:12

Really looking forward to trying today’s product. Don’t remember seeing this on the list of products in the Advent, so looked it up & it has great reviews. I’ve liked the mix of products in the last few days, I don’t really wear makeup but love trying hair products, so v happy today 🙂

WeAreBorg · 19/12/2023 17:23

I tried the hair stuff this morning, although didn’t read the instructions and had already put conditioner in. I haven’t noticed anything amazing but will try using it properly tomorrow. It did smell lovely mind!

SunMootStars · 19/12/2023 17:53

Is it like a styling cream? So you leave in like I would with my usual curl cream kinda thing?

SunMootStars · 20/12/2023 09:54

To answer my own question last night, I used the hair moisturiser last night and then styled as usual. This morning my hair definitely feels much softer.

Today - yep I'm happy with this. Extremely tacky and sticky on the skin but can imagine it working well on dry patches.

UglyModernWindows · 20/12/2023 13:12

I tried some of the hair cream on my dry hair today. Just a tiny bit to smooth my bed hair. Seemed to work really well.

Today’s oil.. not too exciting, I rubbed some on my heels before putting the socks on. As it has castor oil in it, it’s very sticky. I sometimes get a horrible histamine attacks and sneeze all day which makes my nose very sore. This oil might work as a good barrier cream, must remember to try when it happens next.

I loved the bed socks 😍 will only use them in bed as too fluffy for everyday use. I’ve been using an ancient travel sock pair from a BA long haul flight as them have no elastic around ankles, so these WC ones are a very nice upgrade.

WeAreBorg · 20/12/2023 16:51

I tried the Seated Queen oil/balm today - used it as a lip balm and to help with tretinoin induced dry patches, was good. I wonder about using it overnight so might try that tonight.

Have to say my skin is usually shocking by this time in December what with central heating/cold/vast amounts of sugar and wine but it seems pretty good! Must be the £1000s worth of potions

SunMootStars · 21/12/2023 09:02

Ok wow this one was a surprise! I have absolutely no idea what to do with it - will be doing a lot of googling later on!!!

WeAreBorg · 21/12/2023 18:07

Have you figured it out @SunMootStars ?
Im charging it now - apparently there’s an app?
Hopefully someone will swoop in and tell us what to do!

FinallyFinalGirl · 21/12/2023 18:25

Is this the Foreo? Yes...there is an app for it. You sync your device with the app by holding in the button and ensuring Bluetooth is on on your phone. Then you choose the mask you are using with it and the Foreo will start, changing heat and LED colours over about a minute and a half.

The masks are expensive so I just use mine with ordinary face masks. I put it on my face then glide the Foreo over my face.

I know Cosmetopia said it was gimmicky but I like the Foreo and think it does help the serum in masks absorb better. Plus the app is lovely to use with a nice, soothing voice.

HollyGolightly4 · 21/12/2023 18:48

Is this the foreo mask?? I haven't got it! It's one of the reasons I went for this calendar. What do I do?!

OP posts:
HollyGolightly4 · 21/12/2023 18:52

Well, I'm an idiot! Obviously opened door 22 instead of door 21 🙈 panic stations!

OP posts:
WeAreBorg · 21/12/2023 19:02

Phew!!

WeAreBorg · 21/12/2023 19:02

Thanks @FinallyFinalGirl will use the app, wasn’t going to bother but sounds fun!

You definitely should. You can just switch it on and use without the app, but it's not the same experience and the Foreo does different things depending on the type of mask you choose.
