What would you look like?
(This is meant to be fun, also includes husband/wife/partner, whichever you prefer).

Mine would have me in skinny jeans with a fitted jersey tucked in (imagine the bloat days!). Or basic jersey black leggings with a slinky top, ffs! Coats would be feminine little conservative affairs from Hobbs. Or a neat little Barbour cropped jacket.
Doesn't seem fussy about footwear, but thinks most of the jumpers at Johnstons of Elgin look 'scruffy'. (he hasn't been shown the price tags, lol).

He has never told me this before, but I do have memories of him excessively complimenting me in skinnies. Getting this info out of him was like pulling teeth Grin

Imagine Kylie in 1988. Probably that. 😂

Tisfortired · 20/11/2023 19:56

It would be something skin tight, and anything good/shiny/sparkly would be a bonus. Big hoops earrings but shoes without a heel because he’s short 😃

Lentilweaver · 20/11/2023 19:57

Pretty much the same as I dress now. Very classic, some might call it boring. No prints or frills or florals or leopard print, but dark jewel colours.

Echobelly · 20/11/2023 19:58

It would probably involve corset! I have a few for going out in, so I imagine a short dress or skirt with a corset over it and boots with slight heels - he knows I can't wear stilettoes or very high heels due to a problem with one of my legs. Basically, my 'sexy' going out look, nothing alien to my style as a whole.

I just asked him and he said something like I was wearing when I first met him - tight top, colourful trousers and big trainers 😁

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2023 20:06

I just asked him. He said that other than the fact that I don't wear stockings and suspenders, I usually do a good job dressing myself!

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 20/11/2023 20:07

Something nice as he has a good eye for clothing. Probably a dress in some sort of pattern

LuluBlakey1 · 20/11/2023 20:16

These sorts of things- I m currently far too fat to wear much in my wardrobe unfortunately and am feeling old and very frumpy. I have wardrobes of lovely things that never see daylight at the minute and I know he'd like to see me wear them, although he never grumbles and tells me I look great.

Mine would dress me like a man + stretchy bra to get me out of the house in minutes.

Socks, pants, trousers, bra, t shirt done.

I think he'd even be practical if he was dressing me for my coffin Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 20/11/2023 20:29

I had no clue, so I asked him. At first he got himself tied up in knots about what he should put me in to make sure I'm warm enough (he knows I feel the cold), before settling on "figure-hugging jumper dresses."

I've owned precisely one of these in the 20 years we've been together, which he bought me, and tbf I did love it, but I finally had to retire it last year as it had just got too bobbly. Maybe I should look for another one.

Mamato29192 · 20/11/2023 20:30

I'd be naked all the time 🤣🤣

Gnomegnomegnome · 20/11/2023 20:35

We actually did this and Dh did amazingly!
We went shopping for an outfit for an important event. We went out separate ways in the shops and I didn’t see what he got until we got home.

His choice was much nicer and much more flattering than my choice!
He chose a really flattering and elegant Audrey Hepburn style dress and gorgeous heels.
My choice was boring and not at all flattering in comparison! I returned it and wore his choice to the event and felt gorgeous.

He’s the same with jewellery. He’s got a knack!

MrsVeryTired · 20/11/2023 20:41

Similar to you OP, very fitted. I think slim or skinny blue jeans (definitely tight around butt) and a slim fit top or shirt. He adores Salma Hayek so def figure hugging.
Casual but neat I think (I am not neat in the slightest and usually wear clothes a size too big Grin

Trying to think of clothes of mine Mr Monkey has complemented.

He likes stripes on me - he was quite taken with an oversized Marni xUniqlo cardigan I got last year in black, pink, light blue and bright blue stripes, I wear it with a demin mini and Loake brogue boots.

He was recently very complementary about a light teal down coat I recently purchased.

When we were first dating he was very keen on a fitted, above the knee button through shirt dress in black with a gross grain ribbon belt that I got from Top Shop. I had intended it as a work dress, but it was rather too va va voom for work.

I’m at home tomorrow with my DH, I’m going to ask him to dress me and report back. It’ll obviously be limited to my existing clothes and he’ll have to be suitable for a day of Teams call, but I’m interested to see what he comes up with!

HermioneWeasley · 20/11/2023 21:18

Exclusively in white vest tops. Bottom half less bothered about (clothing wise)

LadyPoncenbyFroglett · 20/11/2023 21:25

A zip that goes all the way round to the back Shock

I would also be intrigued by what this collective 'DP' would hate, too!
Mine doesn't like those balloon trousers or wide dresses. He hates wax jackets because they are square and cold. To be honest he dresses a bit like Indiana Jones (yes inc. the hat), and it's been pointed out to him on occasion. He doesn't care Grin
We look slightly odd together. I like Japanese/scandi styles and there he is like a khaki clad adventurer with his vintage felted wool hat.

I dress fairly sexy for a night out and classy during the day in suits etc for my job. I have to wear flesh tights with skirt suits to work and stud earrings so ex dp would have me in black tights, a short dress instead of suit and hoopy earrings.

He on the other hand wears jeans and trainers with tshirts all the time and I would love for a suit more often. That said we have just broke up so no matter.

tunainatin · 20/11/2023 22:00

I would look a good deal more middle aged than I already do, in sensible Clarke's shoes rather than supergas!

I love that image op.

If I dressed MrFlo (and if money were no object) he'd wear a Savile Row tailored suit every day.

Paperbagsaremine · 20/11/2023 22:09

Well normally, lycra, but I got a new fuzzy jumper today and his eyes lit up. We used to keep hamsters many years ago lol!
Most of the time he has no idea what I'm wearing or what I look like, he just perceives this vague blur that he has positive feelings about, like I'm "the smell of chocolate" or whatever.

FrillyGoatFluff · 20/11/2023 22:17

Wrap dress and heels
or tailored 7/8 trousers, floaty French tucked shirt, pointy flat pumps and a blazer
or skinny leather trousers, band t and wedge trainers

We met (at work) when I was much slimmer and much younger, and this was pretty much my uniform, those days hold good memories ☺️

WhereAreWeNow · 21/11/2023 08:36

DP loves me in a wrap dress too. Wrap dress and heels. He'd probably like me in stockings and suspenders too.
I do wear wrap dresses for work sometimes but not with very high heels and I usually get changed into something slouchy and comfy as soon as I get home. I don't make an effort at home.

notacooldad · 21/11/2023 11:52

I’ve just asked DH to dress me for the day in anything he likes me in.
Hw picked a long flowy dress.
I asked him why he picked this and he said ‘welll you like rhem’
i said the point was for him to dress me in what he liked. He said I like you in those dresses.
so there you go, maxi summer dresses in the middle of winter!
