With regards to the Blue outfit and that glorious cape, I would love to try them on.
When I was a teenager I worked in a boutique and followed fashion with a passion. In my 60s I don’t need to do that so I dress in what pleases me.
I love clothes with unusual shapes or references to fashion from the past.
Most of my clothes are long and drape-y, I wear net underskirts to increase and emphasise the shape. I like Dark Academia, Lagenlook, Gudrun Sjogen etc, lots of layers and accessories.
However, I also have a wardrobe for walking the dog in the mud that consists of jumpers or tunics with slim fit jeans, so that I can wear my wellingtons!
The other day I had to call into work straight after walking said dog. I was rushing round clad in jeans and a jumper with boots not Wellingtons. ☺️
One of my colleagues was flabbergasted! She said, I can’t believe it is you in those jeans, look at your figure! Several times she commented so I said, oh, this is my scruffs, I love my dresses and long skirts!
She couldn’t seem to understand why I would not want to show off my figure.
I believe for many women wearing clothes isn’t just about comfort or fashion, it is a means of expression. It’s fine for us all to like different things, wear what makes us happy and to smile at people whose choices seem odd to us. As long as we aren’t rolling round on the street in hysterics it’s fine!
