Christmas Dress to Impress

It’s my first Christmas party post-divorce. There has been a bit of flirting with a (single!) colleague and in basic terms I intend to pull him at the party. The first new person for me since 1995, and I am certainly feeling it.

I’m 50, 5’8- 5’9, a size L in H&M/Zara or probably a 10 in M&S. reasonably well toned. Tending to pear shaped.
what can I wear that is sexy but subtle?

@CrebillionFils I was thinking of the sexy but subtle brief. Given the Op’s description of her figure. I think it could look very sexy. Esp with the flash of leg. But yeah, it might be too subtle!

Rent a dress! Nobody’s child are in most too. I’ve used John Lewis rental and hurr collective and rented amazing dresses for less than £50. Can also rent accessories and shoes. Good luck!

Haven’t got a link but I’d say wear a dress in the silhouette that’s knockout on you and makes you feel bloody fabulous. Eg I’ve got good shoulders from the gym but no boobs so I love a Bardot neckline personally. I’ve also got a small waist but big thighs so a ball gown style skirt works well.

Call me an old fart (I’m not actually though I act like one!) but I’d personally go for legs or boobs on display, not too much of both. Since you said sexy but subtle. Leave him wanting more! 😉 Or not, of course!

Completely agree with this post! A well fitted grown up slinky LBD, nice heels. Nothing frilly or sparkly, show off your nice toned figure. Nails and hair done, avoid red lipstick if you want a sneaky pash

Don’t dress to impress him, dress to impress you. If you wear something you love and feel comfortable in you’ll feel confident and give off naturally sexy vibes being more likely to pull. If you don’t pull who cares you’ll have felt amazing anyway! it’ll be his loss or gain regardless. Don’t over think it. 💚

I have also thought about AquariusWoman’s point which is valid, he may not want any relationship with a colleague; there may be someone outside work who has his interest, this might all be in my head.
Regardless, this is at least partially for me, the last few months I have started to feel normal again, people who know me have commented on the difference.
life is good, the milestone of being with someone else can wait if it has to. I just don’t want my ex to be the last man I have sex with.

Pear shape I would balance the shoulders, tend to sway to a v neck and go for a shorter dress (since your tall) but flared from the hips skater style.
