Does anything really work for crepey skin on chest?

It's no good. All these years I've taken care of the skin on my face but totally neglected my decolletage. My face looks ten years younger than my neck and chest. Is there any lotion or potion that actually reverses the lines and crepey skin? Help!

Watching with interest - I'm in my 60s, and my decolletage is like a bloody turkey's. My face is decent, though.

Hi OP, you could try a few products which may give some improvement - something like glycolic acid which is a chemical exfoliant, and also a retinol product (not at the same time).
Over time these should help improve your skin tone and texture, however be careful the skin on your chest and neck can sometimes be quite sensitive so you may have to introduce them slowly.

Also, if you have things like brown spots or a lot of freckles, sometimes a few sessions of IPL can really improve these, but obviously it's an expensive option.

It's a good time of year to try out a few things, as you can protect the skin from the sun easily, or if you have any redness or irritation you can cover it up.

It's a nightmare isn't it. I have boobs so a v-neck is more flattering. Except now it's revealing my turkey throat and chest.

Thank you. Could you recommend a gentle retinol cream? Also do I need to properly cleanse my throat and chest, like my face? Or does using my shower gel (it is L'Occitane though) to clean throat and chest okay?

If you have crepey boobs, then yes!

Me too. Polo necks wouldn't be an option for me Grin

There are loads of retinol creams out there, totally depends on your budget and the type of formulation you want. I would recommend a thicker cream rather than a gel so you get some good moisturising in as well.

I use tretinoin (which is a much stronger form of retinol only available on prescription or by subscription) but for a long time I couldn't use it on my neck and chest, so I started off using a retinol from the Ordinary, then I moved to one from Geek and Gorgeous (a brand I really like because they are not expensive), which you can only buy online.

I basically use the same stuff on my neck and chest as I do on my face, so I cleanse my face and neck with my facewash and then put on my creams or serums, whatever I am using on my face.

Don't forget to put SPF on your neck or chest if they are exposed to the sun also, especially if you start using 'active' ingredients like retinol etc.

Hello! I'm a fellow crepie and swear by Prai throat and decollate cream. It's the only thing that's made a difference to me !

Thank you. Which Prai products do you use?

OP posts:
Poontangle · 27/10/2023 19:48

A generous squirt of Mitsouko and a level gaze.

Darklane · 27/10/2023 19:54

The Prai creams are very good. Other than that high necks, chunky necklaces & light pretty scarves interestingly tied.

Illegally18 · 27/10/2023 22:32

I have a cousin who did some serious tanning in her early twenties. Now she is very wrinkled. Went i went and stayed with her i lend her some of my Pixi Retinol Tonic and we were both astonished at how it smoothed her skin. You could try that to start with, at night

GettingStuffed · 27/10/2023 22:42

You just need a really really good moisturiser. And use sunscreen if you're out and about with that bit on display

countingto10 · 28/10/2023 08:06

Sleeping on your back, in a slightly raised position (you can get sleep wedges though I haven’t bothered yet). Takes a while to get used to it but it’s make so much difference to my neck, chest and puffy, hooded eyes and my shoulder no longer hurts (have a tendon issue with it).

Puppylucky · 28/10/2023 21:06

@Bookist I just use the throat and decollete cream - usually the day version in the morning

TogetherWeLearn · 28/10/2023 21:13

@countingto10 doesn’t sleeping on your back lead to snoring?

fishfingersandtoes · 28/10/2023 21:23

.

EtiennePalmiere · 29/10/2023 06:40

Has anyone tried the chest patches? I can only sleep on my side sink considering them 🤔

sadforthem · 29/10/2023 07:01

I have this too. It's the way I sleep on my side. I can't sleep any other way. Whatever way I gurn during the night too has given me deep wrinkles around my moth. AghhhSad
I didn't find the Prai cream any use.

LoobyDop · 29/10/2023 07:52

Not crepey, but I do sleep on my side and the creases from that were becoming more and more persistent. I tried using Cerave SA on it- I bought it for KP on my arms- and it has made a huge difference.

NutellaWithEverything · 29/10/2023 08:01

If toy use a Glycolic Acid, and then a retinol, do you then use the moisturiser on top?

NutellaWithEverything · 29/10/2023 08:01

not toy, you

Velvian · 29/10/2023 08:03

I've been using the L'Oréal Revitalift day cream with retinol for 2 or 3 years and that has gradually made a noticeable difference to my chest.

It has factor 30 as well as retinol. They are 2 things that really do make a difference to wrinkles. Forget your pentapeptides and boswallox (sp?)😂
