Sold out on line - has anyone seen this in store???

I am really taken with this jacket. I think it is one of those pieces that could be worn for years over different blouses/tops and both dressed up and down.

Unfortunately, on both the UK and the Irish sites of M&S, it's sold out on line in my size.

Has anyone seen this in store?

I've put in the details of all of the M&S stores on both sites that are near me (or that are a driveable distance to me) and they don't have it in stock according to their stock checker.

Any ideas?

Are you close to Harrogate? They have a 1 x size 20 there. Trawl your address book for friends and family and check their local stores for who has it in stock? Good luck!

Thought I'd come back and update (and say thank you to one and all who offered and checked in their local M&S store, including those who actually offered to buy one for me which is going beyond). A few nights ago, I was getting ready for bed and I thought I might check to see if they had any more in stock (I didn't get an email reminder even though I had signed up for one) and lo and behold they did. They had ONE in my size. Usually when they have one, they might go through the ordering process and then email you to say that they are out of stock and refund you, so I really wasn't holding my breath but I was hopeful.

It's only gorgeous!!!

It is velvet but it's not the heavy velvet you might get in a velvet blazer. It's probably no heavier than say the weight of a sweatshirt or thin knit jumper but it's absolutely gorgeous. It's so soft and has the embroidery on the front, on the sleeves and on the back of the jacket. There is a little hook & eye at the neck which you can use to close it on you or not. There is also an internal pocket (but if you put something heavier than say theatre tickets 😁 in there it would hang wrong on you, but it's there nonetheless).

I love it!!!!

I just have to find somewhere to wear it now.

To those of you suggesting that I use the email notification service to let me know when the product comes back in stock - I've just received an email this morning from M&S advising me that "We're very sorry but the item you've been waiting to hear about isn't back in stock yet. As it's been a while since you signed up for the email notification, this request has now expired".
This is a notification for a jacket that I was able to order, and have subsequently received but I was able to find it online purely by speculating one evening before I went to bed. No notification from M&S about it being available on line that evening.

I think their technology needs to be updated.

I hope others pay closer attention and repeatedly go back online frequently to check availability of products and don't rely on the email stock tracker notification.

Particularly if you're waiting on something in the run up to Christmas.

Their email notifications are pants.

Glad you got one, I just noticed this thread and came to say it seems to be back in stock.

Thay have some in Norwich store today. Sorry I didn't see which sizes. Could you ring them. They might send you one .

I was getting confused as there seem to be plenty in stock in size 20 and 22 online, then saw the thread is a few weeks old!

I've just checked, it is back in stock in all sizes. Size 6 is low stock.

I saw someone ahead of me in the queue returning this and my eyes were 👀trying to follow it. I found it online but alas my budget cannot stretch to it right now. Nor do I really need it, but it is very pretty. Enjoy!

Saw it in person, in the Camberley store. Lovely, and more like a cardigan weight than jacket, but very nice and I think easily worn with jeans, dressed up with trousers or over a dress.

Argh I also wish I hadn't opened this as it looks SO GREAT and I have just spent a lot of money on M&S to get the advent calendar!

I had my eye on a particular bikini this year and it was never in stock. I kept checking and lo and behold, one day it appeared! It's amazing and i love it. And I also got a "sorry your request has expired" email. The moral is definitely to keep checking.
