Dry shampoo

Hi all please could I get some recommendations for dry shampoo? I used to use batiste but it seems rubbish now. Currently using bed head but that seems rubbish as well unless it's my shampoo that I'm using in between. Would appreciate recommendations for decent shampoo and conditioner as well please. I've been using garnier hair food. Got dyed red fine above shoulder length hair. Thank you

I got a can of Living Proof in a set I got. Initially wasn’t that impressed, but now like it. It is ££££ though, so wouldn’t buy again. I quite like Pantene Day 2.

TheOGCCL · 21/09/2023 19:27

I use Living Proof but v expensive.

I read you are meant to use dry shampoo the day before you actually need it.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 21/09/2023 23:46

Really? I used to wash my hair daily but the red fades too quickly. I'm just finding the dry shampoo is not making my hair feel any less greasy. It just feels lank and stuff and full of product but I'm wondering if I'm not using a good enough shampoo. I'm happy to pay a bit more for shampoo

I like the moroccanoil oil one. It makes my hair feel normal, rather than lank or greasy. I do put it in the night before though!

I will say, I picked up a can of got 2 b, think it’s the volume one (in a blue can) and was really impressed for the price. If Moroccan oil is 9/10 for me, I’d say the got 2 b is an 8.

I like tescos one. Doesnt feel like you've got lots of powder in your Hair. I always apply at night too so the product is nice And worked in by the morning

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 22/09/2023 12:47

Thank you all. I did try the klorane one when it was in on offer but it didn't seem much different for the price. The got 2 be one I also tried. Maybe it's my shampoo that's letting me down

Me and teenage DDs like the Lidl one.

Possimpible · 22/09/2023 13:48

I use Living Proof shampoo, conditioner, and dry shampoo in between. It's easily the best I've found. It's expensive but I buy the large containers (of shampoo and conditioner) and they last me months as I only wash my hair twice a week.

Ah I might try that then. My hairdresser said with my dye colour to concentrate more on the mask rather that trying to get a decent colo shampoo. Like I have fine hair so it's difficult to get a good colour and body one. I do have a good wella
Mask so I'm happy to spend a bit on the shampoo and conditioner but £25 for a dry shampoo is 😫

@teaandtoastwithmarmite Living Proof dry shampoo is excellent, but I can get away with Batiste for day 3 using these shampoos and conditioners. I use the Perfect Hair Day but it did strip a red toner out of my hair after one wash so not sure it's colour-safe. You might be okay with proper dye. Either that or use the cheaper shampoo but invest in the good dry shampoo to save washing as much.

Nat6999 · 22/09/2023 14:37

I use Batiste, you really need to spend time brushing it out after you have used it, I tip my head up & brush like mad for at least 5 minutes. It's the only one that stops my hair getting greasy.

BettyOBarley · 22/09/2023 14:42

Batiste is the only one I've ever rated (not the brunette one as that's rubbish too).

I've tried so many others, cheap and expensive, and they have all been rubbish.

Haven't tried the Living Proof one though.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/09/2023 15:49

Thank you. Maybe it is my shampoo as it just feels full of product sometimes and the bed head dry shampoo makes it stiff and horrible

I think I need recommendations for a good shampoo and conditioner 😁

I used Pureology shampoo & conditioner when I had my hair coloured. I thought it helped keep the colour well.

I only ever use Klorane dry shampoo, my fave. Living Proof is OK, but pricey and heavily scented. I really didn't like Batiste, didn't think it did a good job and hated the scent. Aldi had a dupe of the living proof one a couple of months ago, haven't got round to trying it yet.

Islandsadness · 23/09/2023 16:17

I used batiste and don't brush. Spray on root, leave for 5mins, run hair with towel. Works perfectly!

wherehastheyeargone · 23/09/2023 18:01

I usually use Batiste and don't tend to deviate. However, I received a can of Soap and Glory dry shampoo as part of a gift set and it was amazing. Smells great and felt lightweight while also refreshing my great roots (my hair is really fine so looks greasy within a day of washing). It seems to be quite hard to get hold of but I pick it up if I see some and even better if in a 3 for 2 offer!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 03/10/2023 22:56

Hm lots to try here. Thank you. I've started using OGX shampoo and conditioner and gone back to batiste the original but there's just way to much white stuff. I just brushed my hair after using it this morning and loads came out plus you could see it all day.

DumpedByText · 03/10/2023 23:05

Batiste is the best, I've tried loads. I spray it on, then rub my whole head with a towel after 10 mins. No white residue at all.

LifeIsJustOneBigWTAF · 03/10/2023 23:13

Sounds like you've got a build up of product, including dry shampoo. I would get a clarifying shampoo (eg Klorane, Neutrogena etc) and give your scalp in particular a right good wash. Maybe not immediately after having roots done though, as some of them can strip colour as well.

After that you might find the Baptiste dry shampoo is effective again. I've used it for years and I don't think the formula has changed or anything.

Middleagedmeangirls · 04/10/2023 08:39

I've tried them all but always go back to Batiste. I spray it on at bedtime and leave it in overnight. It absorbs all the grease and doesn't need brushing out apart from usual morning grooming. One application lasts a couple of days.

Thanks. This could be true but I didn't wash my hair this morning and haven't put any dry shampoo in and there's nothing. In fact it feels quite clean and soft. I think this new shampoo must be better. Still need a way of applying the dry shampoo without getting white crap all over my hair though lol.

I will try this. Did you get all the white stuff still?

its white when sprayed in but no trace of white by the morning.
