Fitflop shoes - trainers specifically

Does anyone have these, Im looking at the Rally trainer but it doesnt mention that the insoles are removable and I need to put my own orthotics in them, unless they are suitable already for arch support and a deep heel cup?

They're so expensive I dont want to order a mistake and have the faff of sending them back

Just checked and yes they're removable - they're very thin as well.

Thanks, do you have the Rally trainer?

They have quite a few different versions of the same trainer, are they lightweight?

I have terrible problems, not limited to achillies tendonitis, corns, over pronation (ie ankles go in), arthritis, knee problems, blah blah blah

I have orthotics that help but they're big and dont fit in shoes unless I take the insoles out

I'm currently waiting to collect a pair of Rally trainers from a drop off point. Might get them tomorrow.

I have several pairs of Fitflops shoes but these will be my first Rally - I'm getting them to replace a different style of lace up Fitflop shoes that I've worn out. All my Fitflops are very lightweight and I expect Rally to be the same.

Have you looked in the outlet section of the Fitflop website for versions on sale? I ordered mine just last week.

Brilliant, I will wait to hear about them

I notice on the website they have the 'normal' rally trainer but then also have ones with a crepe sole

I prefer the look and shape of the crepe ones, the toe looks slightly rounder which I prefer. But Im guessing the crepe sole will be quite heavy.

I have the white ones with the three velcro straps. I pulled out the insoles (they may be stuck down so pull hard) and put my own orthotics in.

They are really comfortable.

I notice they talk about arch support on the website, is the insole quite supportive at all? I hate the thought of ripping out part of a shoe thats going to cost me 100 quid

They do have a bit of arch support but not loads.

YouBetYourBippy · 20/09/2023 21:31

I'm on my 12th pair of Rallys (I have 3 on the go at any one time!) I love them. They are supportive but not orthotic level supportive! They last really well though and clean up very well too.

RockGirl · 20/09/2023 21:32

I have custom made orthotics so rip out all the insoles. 🤣

They are really great. Put mine in the washing machine and they came out good as new.

God you sound like me, Ive got 7 pairs of camper trainers

So are all your Rally trainers the 'normal' ones or do you have any of the crepe soles?

I have seen Fitflop Rally's on M&M Direct, do wonder if they are the real McCoy

FlickyCrumble · 20/09/2023 21:35

I had the previous rally in silver which I love and use for long periods of standing and walking.
I’ve recently bought the new rally and it a bit heavier and tighter. Not much arch support as I don’t need it. To be honest they’re good enough as I struggle with shoes and have raved about fit flops for years.
in my search I’ve noticed marks and Spencer slip on good move trainer would have been my next purchase if the sole had been wider.

I got mine at Cheshire Oaks for about £60 I think.

I would imagine MandM is legit.

I've actually never noticed the crepe ones! They're niiiiiice! But no, I haven't tried them.

@bellac11 I've just ordered a pair 🤣 Thank goodness for this thread!

Pushkinini · 20/09/2023 21:44

I have the white leather Rally. I just put my insoles in over the top of what is already there. Helped my plantar fasciitis no end.

I watched them on Amazon for a while, set my desired price on camelcamelcamel and bought them when they dropped down in price. Think I paid around £60 for them a year or so ago.

bellac11 · 20/09/2023 21:45

Thats interesting, I normally have to take any insole out because otherwise the shoe is too tight and my foot lifted too much out of the shoe. Its annoying.

@bellac11 I've just been sent a 20% off code for a friend with my order - if you PM me your email address, I'm happy to send it to you.

MapleSyrupWaffles · 20/09/2023 22:29

I have the Rally mesh stretchy ones - think they're called multi-knit - and they are comfortable because they are fabric and stretch, so they don't cause blisters which most trainers do on me, and the soles are quite thick, which reduces the blisters underfoot. However, despite taking out the insoles, with my own orthotic insoles in, they are still too shallow, and my heel can easily slip out. That might be different in the ones with laces or velcro, though. But I've ended up putting the regular insoles back in. There isn't that much support, though, and I know that my feet/ankles still wobble with them in. However the lack of blisters is still drawing me to them at the moment, even though I know they're probably not great for me.

chalkyc2 · 20/09/2023 22:40

I've just received a pair of white rally's with the crepe sole! They're not heavy at all they're amazingly light. The inside is almost like a canvas? I'm not sure about arch support.

The thing I did find is they're pretty narrow - I have wider feet - I'm going to send them back as they're too expensive not to be perfect. Shame though - they're nice.

bellac11 · 20/09/2023 22:51

Oh dear I think Im on the verge of ordering the minky grey nubuck ones, was a bit worried if they were too narrow

I have some birkenstock trainers which are good for me which i was surprised at, but they're the wrong colour, Im on the waiting list for the dark brown leather ones and silver ones but also wanted something more for work

The problem when you have foot and ankle problems is you're always on the lookout for the right shoe, its always the next pair that are going to be the right ones.

I have the blue rallys for work. Very comfortable, more so than sketchers. I’m on my feet all day running up and down several flights of stairs. But my feet love fitflops and generally they co
pin about any other footwear.

fitflop often do sales - mine were £38 in the last one. So I wait !

AzureBlue99 · 20/09/2023 23:11

I love Rally trainers. I have three pairs, all a couple of years old, all still going strong. I have comfortable Skechers but the Rallys are better.
