Does anyone have these, Im looking at the Rally trainer but it doesnt mention that the insoles are removable and I need to put my own orthotics in them, unless they are suitable already for arch support and a deep heel cup?

They're so expensive I dont want to order a mistake and have the faff of sending them back

I have the Rally mesh stretchy ones - think they're called multi-knit - and they are comfortable because they are fabric and stretch, so they don't cause blisters which most trainers do on me, and the soles are quite thick, which reduces the blisters underfoot. However, despite taking out the insoles, with my own orthotic insoles in, they are still too shallow, and my heel can easily slip out. That might be different in the ones with laces or velcro, though. But I've ended up putting the regular insoles back in. There isn't that much support, though, and I know that my feet/ankles still wobble with them in. However the lack of blisters is still drawing me to them at the moment, even though I know they're probably not great for me.

You could try putting some orthopaedic wadding ( you can buy it on eBay) onto the top of the insoles in the side arch. It sticks well and gives an extra lift when it is impossible to fit insoles.

thanks, yes, that might be an idea. I think the fact that the sides of the shoes are stretchy is probably part of the problem - leather ones would give more support, but then I'm back to the blisters problem. It's a constant trade off!

Sorry for the late update on the newly delivered Rally shoes.

Overall: a disappointment. They're the canvas ones (on sale) and have a horrible synthetic padded lining. The shoes they're replacing (very well worn older FitFlops but not Rally) were also fabric outer but didn't have a thick lining. I have wide feet but ordered my 'true' size because that's what the old pair were (I actually have two of the old pairs in different sizes (one half a size larger) but it was the true size that fitted better). But the new pair feel tighter - either their sizing has changed slightly or it might be the extra padding. If you have wide feet, I'd opt for half a size up.

The soles don't seem as flexible as my old shoes, but that might be because they're not worn in.

I definitely wouldn't commend the canvas version (and definitely not for warm weather) but the leather versions might be different if they don't have such a thick padding. Although I see some are Lycra/polyester - yuck!

The foot-bed is easily removable.

I have a pair of rally, the 1st pair I wore them out they were the knit ones and my toe wore a hole after about 4 years. Brought a second pair on vinted and I love them

Thanks everyone for your information

I finally found a shop where they had some canvas ones so I tried them for the fit, I did find they were more narrow than I had hoped but worse was that the shoe is quite shallow. Although I could see that I would be able to remove the footbed, as someone asys its quite thin anyway, so putting my orthotic insole in would lift my foot quite high out of the shoe, such a shame

I do still really like the nubuck crepe soled ones though, they look as if they might be quite a different fit but I dont know if that is wishful thinking

@bellac11 ... I hope you don't mind me tagging you but I'm looking at the nubuck crepe soled Rally trainers and debating getting some.

How did you find yours? What was the fit like? And the sizing?

I've had such bad plantar faciitis recently so I'm desperate to find some trainers I like that will work. Size-wise I'm not sure whether to go for 5.5 or 6.

Any feedback from anyone greatly appreciated 😊

They are not wide, but the bouncy heel is great for plantar fasciitis.
