Was looking for something else entirely. Then I saw these. I'm getting Rachel from friends vibes. Yay or nay?

I love them. I've been looking at the very similar flat pair on R&B (Master style) as I know I can fit into their size 9 and I struggle to find boots to fit me. But I can't justify the price tag.

I think they're fairly classic and unlikely to date much. I like that they're a clean line with no unnecessary buckles etc.

I think they'd look great with a denim or leather/pleather midi skirt.

I also wear my knee high boots UNDER my wide leg and flared jeans. Helps to keep my legs warm in winter

Can you wear a heel that high, is it comfortable for you? Would you get much wear out of them or are they just for 'best'?

I'm off in to town later so I'll pop in to R&B and report back. My concerns are that I won't like the black suede (and brown really isn't for me), that the heel is too high and that they won't be wide enough for my calves.

I don't mind a thin sole, I often wear barefoot shoes.

They have another style with a slightly lower heel, worth trying both and having a wander round the store in each.

Vagabond has amazing selection, with good prices and superb quality

I like them but they are too high for me now, I have a pair similar style but in suade from garbor, that are now in their 11th year, I do spray them now and then, they cost £150 at time, the most I have spent on a pair of boots, but I wear them every winter so I have had my moneys worth.

So I went to R&B. Sadly I did not purchase any boots. The brown ones in the first link are gorgeous, but they were slightly too high and slightly tight on my calves. I also don't find brown quite so wearable and didn't like the black suede.

I did look at the low heeled version, but they aren't as nice - they need an in between height!

I did however find this pair: https://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/gaucho/241804 which are gorgeous in real life, such lovely quality. I'm just not sure about the heel/ sole colour so didn't buy them.

Have you looked at Duo boots? They do different calf widths and the quality is good.

Style aside, R&B are worth the money in terms of quality and service. I've had a pair of boots from there for ten years-ish and take them back to be heeled and soled. They come back cleaned, polished and like new.
