Jones Road Miracle Balm- anyone tried it?

I’m 52 , looking for something I can use all over my face to make me look awake and fresh on Teams Calls . I WFH , so just do a basic , face brows and Vaseline on lips for work.
I’ve come across this, so any opinions would be great. And shade? I’m very fair, sallowish with dark hair and brows. Its pointing me to a rosy shade but I think that au naturel might be more suitable for all over use?
Would really appreciate opinions before I part with £36.00, doesn’t look like its widely available in stores for me to ask for a sample.

I went to look at it in Liberty and thought it was awful. There were pools of oil resting on the top.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/09/2023 07:26

Revolution do a fairly good dupe for £5.

I’ll second that. Bought 2 shades of the Revolution dupe, both lovely for cheeks & lips. Wouldn’t use all over face though.

NotQuitePerfect · 09/09/2023 07:47

@LadyOfTheCanyon i meant 😄

Ostryga · 09/09/2023 07:50

I tried to get on with it as I have dry skin but it was awful. Never blended, just sat heavily on my skin and looked like I didn’t know how to use foundation.

Boots No7 Hydraluminous is a far better moisturising foundation. Not too heavy and blends right in.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/09/2023 07:57

I don't think you're supposed to use it like a foundation though? Isn't it just a tinted balm for cheeks and lips?

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 09/09/2023 08:02

@LadyOfTheCanyon - I’ve nearly been taken in by the Jones Road Miracle Balm and decided not to go with it. Too expensive to get it wrong!

Just been onto the Revolution website but cannot work out what the dupe is. Can you send me a link please 🙂 (and Thank you)

MrsHaroldRobbins · 09/09/2023 08:03

I use it but only as a cheek/brow highlighter. I love it. I have the natural which I use over cream blusher and the bronzy coloured one which I use on its own in the summer. You could try a few drops of Glossier Futuredew mixed with foundation for an all over glow?

piscofrisco · 09/09/2023 08:05

It's awful. Sticky and very sparkly! Avoid!

FatLarrysBanned · 09/09/2023 08:13

Give the Revolution dupe a go first. It's not sparkly just a very pigmented vasaline. I have it in a bronze and peach colour. I like it for the "no make up" make up days.

SpottedHandkerchief · 09/09/2023 08:09

I think it’s this OhYeah

This?

That's the one!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 09/09/2023 08:19

I like bronze as a bronzer and flushed as blusher.

its not as pigmented as Nars multiple, there was a lovely bronze multiple in South Beach, which is sadly gone.

Also, Jones Road products seem to all over the place as far as quantities as concerned. their bronzer, while lovely is only 5.8 grams. I already hit the pan and I’ve only had since May. The Balms are huge and they only get used sparingly. Very strange decision.

jugggugg · 09/09/2023 08:28

I've been looking at this but heard bad things, will try the dupe. Thanks

Lotsofpots · 09/09/2023 08:37

I love it. I have lots of the different colours and only one is sparkly - the rose, the bronze and the flush have no sparkle. I use a thick dense brush to blend it in and that stops it from looking and feeling greasy.

Just gives me great glow and warmth.

Gameofmoans81 · 09/09/2023 08:45

You can buy little testers on eBay cheaply before splashing out on a big pot. I found the natural one was pretty much just like Vaseline but the flushed one was a nice blusher. It’s definitely not a substitute for foundation as an all over face product though like the ad suggests. You would just look really shiny!

MissKittyFantastico84 · 09/09/2023 09:46

So I was also intrigued and live in London so went to Liberty and the Jones Road counter...

First of all, it smells horrible. Like a medicated balm but also greasy! Like your head if you wear a hat and get sweaty.

It would honestly feel disgusting all over your face. And even the tinted ones don't have much colour to them. It truly is snake oil! Even the shop assistant was finding it hard to find a good sales pitch for it.

I got an eyeshadow coz the colour was lovely - but it smashed after about three weeks. I've had MAC eyeshadows for years!

I do have a rec though - you could try ELF's Halo Glow range. Their liquid filter is great for adding a rosy glow with minimal effort (it's often called a dupe for the £££ Charlotte Tilbury hollywood filter, and I actually think it's better!)

Jaguarina · 09/09/2023 09:54

I love the revolution dupe, just gives you that youthful glow if dabbed on the cheekbones. Their natural colour is called golden hour and it's amazing dabbed on cheekbones on top of blushed

Jaguarina · 09/09/2023 09:54

Blusher!

50plusandfabulous · 09/09/2023 11:56

This is why I love it on here 🥰 thank you all so much . Will give the dupe a try then .

Another vote for the revolution one, it is amazing and I think it will give you look you are after.

Wakintoblueskies · 09/09/2023 13:19

I was really eager to buy some these products until I looked at PrettyOverFifty’s youtube video on them. She bought loads to try and said they are a complete sticky mess that should never have been created!

Saurus72 · 09/09/2023 13:37

I like some products from Jones Road - the blush sticks are lovely, the bronzer is decent and I love the eyeshadow (I have patina). But like PPs, I went to the counter in Liberty to try the miracle balm before buying and just…big fat no! To look more awake/polished I think a bit of eyeliner, mascara, tinted moisturiser, bronzer, blusher and tinted lip balm would do the trick. Sounds like a lot but would take about 3 mins to apply. Teams is not kind…(though the filters on Zoom are amazing 🤩)

50plusandfabulous · 09/09/2023 17:26

@MissKittyFantastico84 that elf looks a good call thanks ! I’m in my 50s but my skin is pretty good so I don’t want thick coverage , I do struggle with foundations because I’m very fair and sallow and they can look very ‘pink’ on my skin .
